See What a Fool I’ve Been – part 10 and 11
PART 10
Carmen.
Carmen.
Carmen, don’t go. Stay where you are, don’t move.
Carmen, what’s this?
Are you bleeding?
Why is your head bleeding?
Here comes the bullet… Here comes the bullet, can you feel it?
Can you feel that tiny fragment sinking into your head?
Can you feel this?
This is rare.
Most people don’t have this.
And I can feel it because I see it.
And I know it.
Carmen.
Carmen.
Where’s Shane, Carmen?
Where did Shane go?
What is Shane thinking? Can you imagine what’s going on with her?
Shane has bad, bad thoughts, Carmen.
Shane has bad, bad intentions, Carmen. Go figure.
You gotta do something.
Shane’s hands can touch lovingly, but they can hurt as well.
Shane’s eyes can give soft, soft gazes. But they can cut like blades.
Shane’s face can hide love and longing. But it can also hide grievance.
Be careful, Carmen.
Something’s gonna happen to Shane.
Who’s Shane, Carmen?
Who’s Shane to you?
You gotta come back somehow.
You have to remember.
Because Shane’s gonna make him remember everything.
Everything.
Do you remember, Carmen?
You just saw her out there and it looked like she was hiding.
She said: I’m not hiding.
But you didn’t believe her.
Then you saw the bruises.
Who did this to her?
Who did this to you?
Tell me. I’m gonna fucking kill them.
She’s gonna fucking kill him.
Wait, I’m sorry.
That was a fucked up thing to say.
Maybe I meant something by saying it, but…
Can you just forget what I said?
Let’s go back to being who we were.
Friends. Lovers. Partners.
Go back to being who you were, Carmen.
A friend. A lover. A wife.
Is that what you want?
Really a lot.
Because you know, you should feel there’s something going on with Shane, and I’m sure you would like to know what it is.
It’s hard for her, to have him on her face all the time.
Why would it be so hard for her?
She won’t say anything about it. She never says anything about nothing.
But Carmen, you know what the problem is.
Now Shane, I want you to look at me.
Do you remember, Carmen?
It was your voice saying it.
And she was – oh – she was so scared to make eye contact with you.
And now she’s trying hard to keep herself at a distance from –
And it’s working.
This time is working.
It’s working fine.
Do you know why I’m so convinced that she’s gonna kill him?
Because she will.
The reason is: he stole Carmen.
Did he steal you, Carm?
Is Shane deprived of something?
Of someone?
Who’s gone, Carmen?
Are you sure you’re the only one?
Remember.
It’s time to come back.
But it hurts so much.
Ok, take your time.
Because your head hurts.
But it’s time to come back.
Come back and save her.
She’s in her own darkness.
You’re the light.
She’s loosing the light.
So stop hiding.
Carmen.
Carmen, where are you?
Carmen.
You’ve so much to lose.
Don’t let her drown.
Would you marry me?
Make her do the right thing.
Kiss her, soothe her, heal her.
Like she’s healing you.
Help Shane.
Go check her pockets.
