So they left, Shane felt this strange feeling, like she wasn’t ever gonna come back, which was stupid, but after all they’d never left this place, and she had found here the family that she always wanted, so there’s this little bit of a goodbye inside her heart. But on the other hand she’s really truly happy to leave, and go back to the place that brought her and Carmen together for the first time.

            The flight was smooth but very long and tiring. When they first started planning this trip Shane and Carmen had arranged to stay at a local hotel, but Bette and Tina wouldn’t hear of it so now they’re staying at the couple’s place. But they asked specifically not to be picked up at the airport; they wanted everyone to find out at the same time. So they took a cab, and went straight to Bette and Tina’s house, where they saw all the light’s on, and three cars on the porch, which could only mean that Dana and Alice were already there, perfect.

            As they were walking in, they both started feeling a bit dizzy and very very nervous, Shane was most of all anxious, and desperate to see their faces, so she started to walk a bit faster. Carmen had a hard time keeping up with her girlfriend, being pregnant and all, she couldn’t walk as fast as she wished to, but they finally got to the door, and before ringing the bell Shane gave Carmen a kiss and grabbed her hand.

            – There you are!!! We were only waiting for you. – Said Tina as she was opening the door, Shane and Carmen both smiled widely but none of them moved.

            – Hello Tina! Nice to finally see you. – Carmen said, she couldn’t understand why she was nervous.

            – Same here, but don’t just stay there, come on in. – It seemed that Tina was oblivious to the situation.

– Thanks! – When Carmen stepped into the light of the house there was no way she wouldn’t have seen it.

            – Oh my God!!! Oh my God!!! Carmen, are you? What am I talking about, of course you are. – Tina said, she was very shocked, so she just ginned at them and hold them together. Then they just started walking to the place were the rest of the gang was.

            When they arrived and saw everyone there, it just felt like they were home, but they really had no time to process it.

            – Carmen, What the hell is that? – Alice was pointing at Carmen’s belly with a very amused/shocked look; she suspected that they had been keeping a secret for a while and now she could prove she was right. By now everyone was looking from Shane to Carmen and her belly, speechless.

            – Well Alice, in here is growing a little baby; didn’t your mother tell you where do babies come from? –  Carmen answered, with a gesture as if she was talking to three year old. Everyone else laughed everyone but Alice.

            – Well Dah!!! I know you’re pregnant, I just don’t know why you guys would keep this from us for so long. – Said Alice, she looked a bit hurt and sad.

            – We’re sorry about that Al, but this was a very big step for us, and we needed to take the decision on our own. And once we did… it’s been hard, ‘cause the day I was about to call and tell you that she was pregnant something went wrong and we lost the baby, so now we just wanted to wait ‘till we were absolutely positive that this baby is going to live.- Shane finished
