Days went by and they turned into weeks, and months, ‘till one fine night Shane was pleasantly sleeping right next to Carmen.

            – Shane …Shane. – Shane just groaned and turned around. – Shane, you have to wake up… Honey… SHANE!-

            – What?-

            – My water just broke.-

            – It’s ok honey, just go back to sleep.-

            – Shane! My freaking water just broke I’m in labor.-

            – FUCK! WHAT?! OH MY GOD! Ok, umm… stay right here, I’ll go get our stuff and we’ll be there in a minute, don’t worry honey.- Shane jumped off the bed and got everything ready within minutes, she also managed to call the hospital to let them know they were coming and she also called her family.

            Shane drove as fast as she could to get to the Hospital fast, she was scared that if she didn’t make it on time something wrong could happen.

            – Fuck Shane! I would like for us three to get to the hospital alive and un-harmed, is that too much to ask? –

            – We’ll get there alive and un-harmed, but we’ll also be there as soon as humanly possible.- Carmen just held on to her seat as tight as she could and closed her eyes trying to focus on the fact that she needed to breath and relax or else the contractions would get the best of her.

            As soon as they arrived to the hospital they were greeted by and entourage of nurses and Carmen’s doctor, they put her in a wheel chair and take her to her room, one of the nurses takes Shane to where she has to change her clothes for some scrubs, and all that time there was only one thing on her mind. “Please God, If you’re up there, please let her be ok, let them both be ok, and I promise I will take good care of them and she’ll grow up to be a good person, and I’ll make sure she knows  about you, so she can make up her own mind. But please let them be ok.” But when she saw Carmen then she couldn’t think at all, she just reacted to her, and since it was the only thing she could do, she grabbed Carmen’s hand and held it tight, told Carmen how much she loved her and how grateful she was for having her in her life. After a long time of waiting Carmen was told to start pushing, it was only then when Shane knew how very strong Carmen was, ‘because she was breaking her hand. Then the doctor spoke.

            – Shane, I think you would like to be on this side right now, she’s coming, get over here and watch your baby come into the world.- Shane’s eyes widen, she seemed like she was gonna throw up, but she was there to see her baby be born. She had a terrified look in her face when the doctor told her to cut the cord.

            – The hell I will! Wait a minute… there’s an extra leg in there…- The doctor laughed.

            – No, Shane it’s not an extra leg, Carmen gave birth to a very healthy baby boy, you are the mother of a boy, now cut the cord so they can take him and check him out.-

            – But… How I’m I suppose to just chop it off, it’s part of him, he needs it, doesn’t he? –

            – Well, not anymore, and we have to take it off so it’s either you or me, your call.- Shane just took a deep breath and the scissors, and did what she had to do, afterwards she apologized to the baby. After they took the baby, Carmen fall deeply asleep, so Shane went outside to check her messages, there was one from Alice. “We’re on our way to the airport, it shouldn’t take us too long to be there, we’ll give you guys a couple of ours alone to enjoy the baby, alright, I’ll see you soon mommy.”
