Chapter 7

Nadia walked into the dark room and waited nervously for her ‘appointment’. She had come from her hearing in which she was stripped of slayer status and she no longer had anything to lose, having lost the career she had wanted since she learned what a slayer was. Her father was a slayer and she knew how disappointed her family would be in her. In her mind this was Tina’s fault, she was in the way and she would make her pay for it.

Her palms began to sweat when she saw her come in. She had blown it by getting caught spying on Bette, but she couldn’t help herself. From the moment she had seen Bette she knew she loved her. She had to have her at any cost. She would not give up on her. When Denbo had contacted her with her plan, she didn’t hesitate. Denbo wanted Tina and she wanted Bette. It was a win-win but for now, the next few hours would determine her fate. She had worked on her new plan all night and she hoped it would be good enough for Denbo.

Days had passed since the Council hearing. They were all present to make sure Nadia got what was coming to her.  She was no longer a slayer and the Underground Security Bureau would be filing criminal charges against her.  Justice in the Witch’s Council was swift and harsh and they were all looking forward to making Nadia pay for her invasion of privacy. 

Tina tossed and turned in the unfamiliar bed, looking for the body she shared it with, for comfort. She snuggled her back and bottom into Bette as the brunette reached around. She joined her in one of their familiar positions, wrapping her hand around Tina’s breast. Bette, now nudged out of a sound sleep, opened her eyes and looked across the hall making sure Angie was ok. The fiercely independent toddler insisted on sleeping in her own bed having grown tired of pushing her hovering mothers off of her at night. Tina had finally figured out how to put a spell on the room, veiling it in a protective barrier that only they could penetrate, but Bette still needed to see her while she slept so they decided to sleep in the room directly opposite their baby, just in case.
