AW! Aint that just so ***** cute? Shane asked.

I think Im going to be sick! Alice stated.

Bette was oblivious to all of it. She just watched Tina come toward her. She couldnt take her eyes off Tina.

Tinas knees felt like they could just give out at any moment. Bette always had this affect on her when she allowed her emotions to rule her expressions, and right now Tina had to sit down. When she reached the table she quickly had a seat. Bette sat next to her and said, Hi Tee, you look magnificent!

You look pretty good yourself Porter. Replied Tina.

I think that is our cue to leave, Shane said.

Tina dragged her eyes away from Bette, What are you talking about? Lets go get a couple of drinks.

Kit stood up and said, I think you and my Baby Sister should go home and uhtalk.

Bette, finally aware of the others, shook her head. No, we are going out for some drinks and conversation. Now where are we all going?

Later at the bar, they had all had a couple of drinks and were starting to relax. Kit and Ivan were dancing, Shane was at the bar talking with some little cutie who she had spotted, Marina was trying to talk with Jenny, and Dana and Alice were talking while Alice kept a watchful eye on Bette and Tina. Things looked like they were going alright, but she wanted to be there in case Tina needed her.

Bette and Tina had tried to talk, but the music was too loud. Finally Bette took Tinas hand and pulled her to the dance floor. Tina didnt resist.

Bette thought she had finally achieved a piece of Heaven. Tina was in her arms, body pressed to her, and those wonderful hands were slowly rubbing up and down her back.

Tina whispered in her ear. I love the feel of silk. Especially when you are wearing it. It had been so long and she was filled with a longing to have things back the way they used to be.

Bette whispered back, I love the feel of you. Especially when you are wearing nothing. But you feel pretty damn good in this dress too. Bette was not going to push Tina, but if Tina was going to say such things to her, then she couldnt help but respond, could she?

With Bettes hot words in her ear, Tina felt such a jolt of desire run through her body that she stumbled a little bit. I think we should go sit down, she said.

Bette hated the thought of letting go. She held just a little bit tighter and said, How about we go somewhere quiet and talk a little bit. Do you think you could handle a little conversation between us?

Tina thought, I could handle a lot more than just conversation, but she said, Sure.

They made their good-byes to the group.

Alice asked, Will you be home tonight Tina?

I will try to be quiet when I get in Alice. It will probably be late. Tina replied.

Bette replied, Dont worry Alice, when Tina is ready to go home, I will make sure she gets there.

Kit went over and hugged Bette. Dont blow this chance Girl! Get your wife back home with you.

Kit then hugged Tina. You know she loves you. Go easy on her heart. She would do anything to make things better.

Tina hugged Kit back. I love her too Kit. I am hoping we can work things out.

Keep those thoughts Tina, because if you two work together, there is nothing that you cant accomplish. I love you Girl!

Bette took Tinas hand and they said goodbye again and made their way outside.

Where would you like to go Tee? It should be somewhere neutral.

How about the beach? I would love to go for a walk along the water.

That sounds great. Lets go.

They had been walking for about an hour in the sand without saying much of anything. Each was lost in their thoughts, but very aware of the other. They had gone from holding hands to walking with their arms around each other.

Well this is the quietest conversation that I have ever had. Bette joked.

I dont know. I kind of feel like we have been speaking volumes all night. Tina replied.

Me too. But we do need to talk. How about we sit down for a while.

They had been sitting in the sand staring at the water for about fifteen minutes. Tina was sitting between Bette’s legs, leaning back against her chest. Bette had her arms around Tina and was resting her head on top of Tinas. Every now and then she would kiss Tina on the top of her head or nose her hair aside and kiss her ear.

Bette thought, this is the way it should be. Everything feels so right. My heart is overflowing with love for this woman. When did we go from being everything to the other, to being so far apart? We have to get back together. But to do that, we are going to have to cover some painful ground.

Tina thought, I could just stay like this and never move. I cant seem to stop myself from responding to her, and in all truth, I dont really want to. It feels like when we were first dating. I love Bette so much. I cant take that we are so far apart in body and mind. We need to work things out. We need to talk.

Bette said, Tee, as much as I am loving this, we are only avoiding the inevitable. We are going to have to talk. Please dont move though. I need to hold you while I talk to you. If I make you too uncomfortable or you want me to stop talking, just tell me, ok?

Bette, I am loving this too, but you are right, we do need to talk. But before we start, would you please kiss me?

Oh God! Why did she have to say that? I have been trying to hold myself together. I cant just kiss Tina and not want more! But I have to kiss her! I would die now if I didnt.

Bette loosened her arms from around Tina and Tee turned toward Bette. There was so much love in their eyes as they looked at each other. Their lips came together very gently. It was a very tender kiss that rocked both of them. Bette slowly gathered Tina to her, giving herself totally to the kiss.

Tinas head swam. She let her hands slowly move up Bettes body and wrap around her neck. She held on because she was sure if she didnt, she would just soar off into space. The kiss was so sweet. It sent tingles through her body into the core of her being. It went on and on and she never wanted it to stop.

Finally Bette ended the kiss and gently kissed Tina on her forehead, each eye, and gently down her neck to where it joined with her shoulder. She sucked that spot for just a moment, and then kissed Tina one more time on the lips before turning her around, wrapping her up in her arms again, and pulling her back against her chest. If she were to die now, she would die happy.

Tina had lost control of her body and her mind. Her body was singing and her mind was screaming for Bette not to stop. All too soon it was over and they were back in that oh so comfortable position, looking once again at the water and listening to it lap at the beach. Tina felt Bette takes a deep breath.
