SOMETHING SO RIGHT
Chapter 69
Bette didn’t remember when she had last felt emotional pain like she was now feeling. She still couldn’t believe that Tina had said no – why ? It had to mean that she didn’t love her. But she said it so often – even tonight when the show had started and Bette had been standing alone for the briefest few minutes she had felt a soft hand on her ass and a gentle Carolina accent had whispered “ I love you “. so why say no now ? What reason did Tina have for turning her offer down ?
Bette was confused and utterly miserable – she had never expected Tina to refuse to marry her – Bette had thought it was what she wanted. She had proposed because she could think of nothing better than spending the rest of her life with one woman – Tina Kennard. She had never felt love like she experienced on a daily basis with Tina – so to be rejected was a cruel blow because she did not know why it had happened.
When she had fled the gallery she had got into her car and just started to drive – barely aware of what turns she was making or where she was heading. After an hour she stopped and took her bearings – she was close to Laguna beach – a place she had never been with Tina. She thought about her birthday and how through her drunken fear she had driven to a place where she had shared a first kiss with Tina. Now, sober but just as gripped with terror she had taken the opposite direction – she had headed down the coast to an area she had never even driven through with Tina. She drove for a few more minutes before stopping at an all night diner and buying a coffee. The show always took so much out of her and she was physically tired – she longed to sleep but she knew that every time she closed her eyes she would see the blonde who she had shared a bed with for so many months – what the hell was she going to do now ? If Tina didn’t want her she was homeless as well as in the throws of a deep emotional pain. She didn’t know if she did want answers to the questions that raced through her mind. Maybe it was best if she just left Tina and somehow started again.

Please let them talk – or at least make Bette listen – the agony of having to wait for this amazing story. Great chapter – PPS!
HEllo AllyE, The emotional impact of Tina’s decision is really hitting home with both gals. Bette is totally distraught as she thinks Tina has completelly reject her and their life together. Tina is beating herself witha big stick for her stupidity and inability to see what Bette wanted for their future. OK so her parents’ marriage is a sham. It works for them. Now Tee has to find Bette and prove how much a mistake her answer was. It was one full of fear and loathing. I just hope Bette is able to listen and see Tina’s distrust of this type of union. I just know that Ally, your wonderful words will let this all play out in my head. True images of a couple in love yet apart and how silly prejudices can damage a perfect relationship. More please. Much appreciation and thanks for your continuation and variety of tales being told. You rock my world at every new addition to this site. Thanks. Your Loyal Fan.

I know Bette is hurting, but she gave up too easily. Just because she said no doesn’t mean forever is over. I hope Tina finds her and can talk some sense in to her. Then Bette just has to work on the whole marriage thing. Thanks for posting. I hope you feel better soon.

Bette is hurting so badly hopefully she will be able to let Tina talk with her. Don’t know why Bette hadn’t thought of Tinan’s parents marriage and how much that would color her world. True that her parents marriage is not the ideal but it would make Tina think twice about marriage. Anyway maybe they can get all this straightened out. Great chapter. Get well. Post when you can.

Oh boy…I sure hope Tina can fix this mess. She needs to tell Bette yes…I mean how hard could it be…really, she says she loves her and would do anything for her. Would it kill her to wear Bette’s ring? She should be happy Bette wants to marry and have a ring that says she’s her’s alone to everyone. BTW…your notes were spot on! PPS

i have never read an authors notes that i have agreed with so wholeheartedly, it is almost as if you read my mind….ilene is the reason we have these characters they we all luv so much, and it has been her gigantic ego that has sabotaged this show after season one and the reason for its cancellation….another great job as usual on your end!!!!!!!!
Feel better soon Ally. What are you talking about…you didn’t think that this chapter was very good…it was great! I couldn’t agree with you more about Ilene’s ego…it’s bigger than all outdoors. It has been the actors that made that show…it wouldn’t have stayed on the air for 2 minutes based on her writing. Funny…I feel better now too that I have ranted!
who’s Fred and what has he got to do with it? why doesn’t Bette have a home to go to? r these things I’ve missed, probably, so plz inform. Great chappie, more.

Sorry about the bug and thanks for the lack of detail. I’ve got enough problems of my own. Too bad everybody relied on reflex in a difficult situation, Tina seeing marriage only through her perception of her parents’, Bette running like a chicken with it’s head cut off. But Ally, how could you give us a Chapter 69 that only rates a PG? I’ll forgive you because you’re sick.
As you said Ally, this chapter is so great and it is written so well, the way you described the whole experience that Bette is going through was so heart breaking, overwhelming and emotional. It really reminded me of what I had to go through. But Ally I didn’t understand till now why Tina said NO???? She is not so convincing in the way she is explaining why she said what she said. I totally feel for Bette, my heart is breaking for her cause I absolutely understand what she is feeling and going through. Thank you so much All, you are so great and I can’t wait for your next up date, so please make it soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon. Love
