    SOMETHING SO RIGHT

    CHAPTER 159

“So we hade to face Bette’s mom after she had caught her daughter giving me on against one of the kitchen units “ Tina was explaining.

“I think we have ALL been there “ Shane said “ Not exactly a mom but it happens – how did you two deal with it ?”

“Ms Kennard here was mortified “ Bette said laughing as she looked across at her partner

“Tina – mortified ?  I thought she was the original free love babe “ Helena said leaning back in her chair

Before Bette could continue with her story a tall man came across

“Your plane is ready Ms Peabody – if you and your friends would like to follow me”

Helena grinned  – two of the  great things about being a Peabody was access to her mother’s private plane and the money to treat her friends to a memorable hen weekend. It had been going to be a huge weekend in the original planning phase but Alice was still somewhere in the Mediterranean at the moment and Dana had been given a wild card to a prestigious event in Montreal so it would just be the four of them. Still she would just have to make sure it was a weekend to remember  – especially after Bette’s illness had made it look like the wedding would not happen. But Bette looked fine – a little under weight but she was much healthier than she had been when she had been lying in a hospital bed attached to a drip and oxygen mask. Helena stood up

“Hold that story until we are on the plane – this is going to be a great weekend ladies “

“I don’t think there is going to be much lady like behaviour “ Tina said getting up and raising her eyebrow at her friend – she looked at Shane

“Hey – I never claimed to be a lady – that’s the department of the three of you “

“Lets get to the plane and we can debate these matters in detail “

Tina grabbed her bag and looked at Bette who was silent. Shane and Helena picked their bags up and followed the steward.
