Forever Begins Tonight

Bette waited staring at her watch wondering if the last of the sun had disappeared behind the trees yet. She had been climbing the walls all night wondering what Tina was doiring or even if she had changed her mind about the whole thing.   Twilight would arrive in a couple of hours and she and Tina would be together; committed and bound in a promise.  She walked out to her garden looking at the flowers; they were so much like Tina, delicate and beautiful.  Closing her eyes, she touched the white rose in front of her, feeling the smoothness of the petals.  The silky texture enveloped the sacred inner…

“Bette are you ready?”

The brunette was knocked back into reality. One night without Tina and she was making analogies with flowers. How would she survive an eternity without her if need be? She shook the unthinkable from her mind and turned to face Kit. The older Porter’s mouth dropped.

“Wow, baby girl. Look at you. You are a vision.” Bette reminded her of a movie star but to her she was even more beautiful. This was her only sister on the happiest day of her life; or at least of her existence.  Bette wore her hair up in a messy bun, tendrils of curls cascaded down her face.  She wore her favorite designer, Armani.  It wasn’t elaborate, she decided to keep her dress simple allowing the fuss to be made over Tina but there was no getting around the fact that all eyes would be on her until Tina walked down the aisle.  Thin straps caressed her shoulders. The white silk crepe floor length gown seemed to flow like milk over her body.  Each curve was accentuated tastefully and she was completely, breathtakingly sexy.  She wore heels now but they would both be barefoot in the sand for the ceremony. 

“Thanks Kit, you clean up pretty well yourself. Look, Kit before we go… I just wanted to thank you.”

“Thank me for what baby girl?”

“For just being… the best sister anyone could ever have. You have always accepted me Kit, no matter what I threw at you. I’ve never felt anything but loved by you and I just wanted to tell you that I love you so, so, much Kit.” The younger woman reached for her sister and put her strong arms around her in a tight embrace.
