Hi. Here are some pastries if anyone is hungry. She put them on the table and headed to the bathroom to fix herself up. She was dying to ask Tina what happened after she left, but Tina was quiet and short with her parents all morning. Bette kept her mouth shut, desperate for the trip to be over. At the ceremony, they put on happy faces for Julie and went out to a big dinner afterwards. Bette insisted on treating, trying to make up for the incident earlier in the day. At dinner, Tina decided to give Julie the present Bette and her had prepared.
Whats this? Julie asked as Tina handed her a beautifully wrapped gift.
Open it and see. Tina smiled.
Julie fumbled with the wrapping but managed to open it, discarding the paper on the floor. She stared at a picture framed in a beautiful wood.
Well, let us see it. Ellen said impatiently.
Julie turned the picture around for all to see. It was a picture of Tina and Julie when they were children. Ellen remembered taking that picture when the girls had fallen asleep together in a fort they had built in the living room, blankets and sheets surrounding them, the sunlight glowing through. Julie was lying on Tina as Tina had her arms wrapped around her little sister.
How did you do this? Julie asked.
Thats where Bette came in. Tina squeezed her hand. I picked out the photo and Bette had one of her artist acquaintances paint it.
I love it. This is the best present. Thank you so much Tina and you too Bette.
Julie glowed and Bette was happy to be a part of this significant time in her life. She loved that Julie understood Tinas new relationship and accepted it with no questions asked. Bette looked at Paul and Ellen, wishing they could someday be as accepting as Julie.
After dinner Tinas parents went back to the hotel and the girls went back to Julies.
Ready to keep your promise for tonight? Julie asked Bette.
One thing to know about me… when it comes to celebrating and keeping my word, Im good for it. Her eyes twinkled.

Great story and we have all partied like that with similar results. By the way, we have now been able to dig out of the snow in Ohio and then it went on your way. The snow will eventually end but OMG it is cold here still. Thanks for keeping us entertained.

Great chapter. Again, you have done this brilliant job to describe Tina and Julie (through a simple childhood picture). The flow of your story is incredibly seductive.
