    Soul Harvest: Chapter 61

Tina slowly climbed the stairs to her apartment and searched for her keys outside the door. Her hands were full of mail and bags while she attempted unlocking the door without dropping anything. Frustrated, she gave up the juggling act and threw down her mail, watching it scatter across the hard wood floor. The key was stuck in the lock and she blew a stray strand of hair out of her face as she dropped everything else from her arms. She bent over to gather her mail, tripping over grocery bags when her keys fell from the door, landing on her head.

Son of a *****. She cursed while rubbing her head. Could this day get any worse?

The last envelope she picked up was another rsvp and she immediately perked up until she read the return address. Her mood changed instantly as she studied her mothers handwriting. Tina took a deep breath and forced the key in the door, dragging her groceries behind her into the apartment. Instead of opening the response right away, she took her time putting away her food and changed out of her work clothes into jeans and a t-shirt, thankful it was Friday. When she walked back into the kitchen, the letter loomed in front of her on the counter. Sighing, she picked it up and looked it over one more time before opening it. The phone rang, distracting her momentarily.

Hello? Tina cradled the phone between her shoulder and ear, beginning a small dinner.

    Hi, Tina, its Mandy.

    Hi! Whats up?

I was just wondering… still dont want a bachelorette party?

Tina laughed. No, I dont. But thanks for asking.

Damn it, Tina. Your wedding is in a week and Im leaving for Belize the day after that. We wont have another chance to party like this!

Well, we can go out, but I dont want a formal party. Deal?

Deal.. Ill see what I can do. Are we still on for tomorrow night?

Of course. I only have a week left with you. Think Id pass up any time?

Ok, well Ive got to go. See you later.
