    Stars Collide: A Bette/Tina Story Chapter 12

“Bette” Because she didn’t have the courage to say what was in her heart yet I thought it best to prompt her into saying it at the risk of scaring her off “Are you trying to say you’re in love with me?” Bette looked at me, she was stunned. I couldn’t believe I had actually just said the L word

“Yeah I am” There were tears in her eyes and tears were also beginning to gather in mine “I’m just scared that you don’t feel the same way” I closed my eyes, how could she be so blind? I sighed heavily and opened my eyes

“I fell in love with you the moment I laid eyes on you” I took Bette’s hand in mine and entwined our fingers together. We spent the rest of the meal talking about ourselves. By the end we knew each other better than we knew ourselves “Come on I wanna take you to my special place down by the lake” We split the bill and walked out hand in hand. I couldn’t believe I had found the courage to say the L word. I felt as if a weight had been lifted from my shoulders “I love you” Bette kissed me sweetly on the lips

“I love you too” I smiled. Bette gave me the keys to her car and I drove to a clearing by the lake. I heard Bette gasp. I knew that would be her reaction “Oh my god T how did you find this place” I smiled when Bette called me ‘T’, I liked it and Bette was the only one that could call me that

“A couple of months ago I was on my morning run and I kinda just stumbled across this place” I got out of the car and went to open Bette’s door. I held out my hand, she took it. I helped out of the car and we walked down to the lakeside “I come here when I need to think or when I wanna be alone” Bette looked at me. I was engrossed by the scenery

“Dance with me” I looked up at Bette, who was looking at me lovingly, I chuckled

“We have no music” Bette shrugged
