Chapter 24
Bette sat at The Planet with Kit and Angie having
dinner it had been three weeks since Tina’s return from New York and it seemed
she was busier than ever.
The only time Bette could spend with Tina was
talking over the phone, and that didn’t happen till late at night when Tina was
free and even then their time was cut short because Tina was so tired.
It didn’t help matters that Helena after her return
from New York was still staying at Tina’s since her home was still not ready
for her to move into.
“Bette…Hello” Kit waved her hand in front of Bette
trying to get her attention since she had been pretty quiet for the last couple
of minutes.
“Hey are you ok?”
“Oh yeah…sorry Kit I was just thinking…”
“About Tina” Kit asked
Bette nodded
“She’s just been so busy since her return from New
York”
“You miss her”
Bette nodded again
“I figured… she was here with Helena last night…and
before you get all hot tempered..” Kit held up her hand to stop Bette from
talking
“It was very obvious to me they were having a
working dinner…nothing more” Kit smiled
Bette relaxed
“She’s been working so hard at the studio…I never
realized just how dedicated and hard working she is.”
“But that’s good right baby sis? Kinda reminds me a
little of you when you have a show coming up you have been known to lose
yourself in your work..you’ve gotten better since Angie”
“Yeah I guess your right” Bette began moving her
food around her plate not really eating Kit noticed something was just not
right with her sister.
“Bette was really going on?”
Bette took a deep breath…
“How did she look…Tina when she was here with
Helena?”
Kit shrugged her shoulders
“I dunno like Tina…except tired, why?”
“It’s just I get….I know it’s stupid… It’s just when
I see Helena and the way she looks at Tina I get a feeling, she has feelings
for Tina…there is something in the way she looks at T…that makes me…I don’t
know…”
“Makes you want to…punch her” Kit teased
“Yeah” Bette laughed
“Do you doubt Tina’s feelings for you?”
“No, no not at all, I know she loves me…I just think
Helena has feelings for T, and Tina has no idea”
“I know Tina loves you Bette…you need to get those
crazy ideas out of your head and realize their relationship is strictly
professional or you’re going to drive yourself crazy…Tina is not Jodie”

Stubborn, stubborn women.
Tina should understand where Bette is coming from. I dont blame Bette for being angry at Tina, she is spending a lot of time with Helena. I know Jodie is only shit stirring because she wants Bette back but I think Tina should get her priorities right
I don’t understand how Tina can do that? Would she be ok if Jodie was living with Bette and Angie “temporarily”? I know that Bette didn’t handle her jealousy right but I think it’s justified. Wouldn’t we all feel like we have been played if our ex told us something like what Jodie said to Bette? I just wish Tina could see that the long hours at the studio along with her ex staying at her house (an ex that she didn’t have the courtesy to inform Bette about), are two things that anybody, not only Bette, would’t be ok with. Anyway, excellent chapters. Thank you for sharing with us.
Great update. They are both wrong. Tina should be a little more understanding of Bette’s feelings and why she feels this way and Bette should have told her that jodi was in the gallery and came to her office door and no further before she sent her on her way. Neither of them should be issuing ultimatum’s at this point in their relationship. However, it should have been Tina’s idea to stay at Bette’s while Helena is still in her home. Personally I don’t think Helena is trying very hard to get to her own place. After all, it is Peggy’s house, so how much work could it need. We all know that Peggy is very meticulous about her home and surroundings. I think Helena just wanted to stay with Tina for awhile since she knew she was involved with someone and to see if she could turn Tina’s head around to her again. I could be wrong but I don’t think so. Thanks for posting.
F’ing Bette. She is so frustrating. Tina should have told her about her past relationship with Helena, but jealousy and mistrust will kill even a great relationship. Loving your story and happy to see you posting again!
Very typical. It’s Tina’s world everybody else just lives in it, and is expected to take her crap. As I said in the previous chapter Tina is not ready for a committed relationship or an instant family. She got wrapped up in a whirlwind romance now she’s having second thoughts and Helena is a convinient excuse to keep the distance. Why can’t Helena live in one of the studio owned apartments like Tina did? It doesn’t matter that Tina claims she and Helena are not sleeping together the emotional connection is there and it’s obviously stronger than anything she feels for Bette and Angie. I don’t blame Bette for walking out; Tina didn’t give her a reason to stay. Helena and her work are more important to Tina than Bette and Angie so she made her choice pretty clear. Too bad Bette and Angie got so attached because they are bound to get screwed by this duo and Jodi thrown into the mix. I feel for Bette but I’m sure Tina will sweet talk her way back into her arms and make it seem like Bette is the bad guy. Sorry didn’t mean to be so long winded in my comments but Helena has that affect on me and Tina is being deceptive; I can’t appreciate her lying to Bette and playing her ‘alpha’games.
LOL – look at all these opinions! No doubt all of us have been on both sides of this equation. I’m with Bette -yes, there are rights and wrongs on both sides, but Tina should have told Bette about Helena – it was 2 years ago, not 2 decades. And they hooked up after that?….Umm, yes Tina that IS relevant. PPS!
Maybe Bette is being jealous and insecure but this whole situation could’ve been avertes if Tina had just told Bette the whole story about her past w/ Helena.Hopefully, Bette will calm down some but Tina really needs to apologize here not Bette. I’m sure Tina wouldn’t like if Bette was shacking up w/ one of her exes, who she now worked w/ daily and spent more time w/ than her own gf. I see nothing but rocky roads ahead unless someone is willing to cave…. And why can’t Helena stay in a hotel? If Tina is concerned w/ Helena’s comfort a hotel is probably the better option anyway. She’d have room service, car service, gym, etc. I don’t think Tina meant to be inconsiderate but did she really think about how Bette would feel? PPS!
Both of these women are so stubborn. Someone needs to wack them upside the head.
Bette may not have handled this situation very well but I think she had every right to be ticked off. Tina should have told her about the relationship with Helena. Keeping secrets never helps in any relationship. Thanks for the post!
I’m sorry I have to agree with Bette on this one. Tina saids she loves Bette but her actions are not showing this to be true. She is taking Bette for granted. Admittedly some people are jealous without justification however the type of behavior Tina is exhibit screams avoidance.
Stand up and show some convictions on this one Bette…No sweet talking, no hot make up sex & certainly no guilt about angelica looking for Teeeeee every 5 mins. will do the trick.
I don’t think Tina can honestly say that she doesn’t mind Jodi moving in and staying with Bette. I don’t think Tina is ready for a committed relationship. Who is so busy that they can’t see their gf in weeks? I hope she stops playing games with Bette because that would hurt Angie too.

What!? … Ugh!! two blind pigheaded women! I don’t believe Helena can’t speed up to settle down faster, come on, she’s a peabody!! Something up her sleeves! Tina is too naive.. Bette and Tina are both stubborn women! I have to admit though that I totally understand where Bette is coming from, and you know Tina, sometimes even when you think you are right, it’s okay to not always get your way. How would Tina feel if Jodie came to stay at Bette’s and every time Tina saw them together Jodie was eating her up with her eyes. She has to see both sides. It wasn’t Bette’s pride in this chapter that got in the way…it was Tina’s. Thanks!
