Chapter 28

Bette awoke I bed alone looking at the clock she
realized it was almost 10am looking around she noticed Tina was nowhere in
sight.

“Shit” Bette said out loud upset with herself for
not waking early enough to see Tina off this morning.

She got up wanting to find her cell phone she wanted
to call Kit and check on Angie.

As Bette made her way to her purse she saw a note on
top of the dresser.

Bette,

Good
morning didn’t have the heart to wake you, you looked so tired and I know you
don’t often have the luxury of sleeping in.

I
have no idea when I’ll be back, I’ll try to make it soon. I’ll call you later.

P.S
Here is the room key in case you decide to go out I will get another on my way
back.

Bette smiled looking around for her bag she pulled
out her cell phone and called kit.

After making sure Angie was ok she ordered room
service, she took a shower and changed.

She sat in bed thinking on ways to better herself to
make this relationship with Tina work, after a few minutes she decided to go
for a walk, she needed to clear her head and gather her thoughts before Tina
returned, besides she needed to let housekeeping come and make up the room as
well.

A few hours later she returned a few shopping bags
heavier, she had found herself enjoying the walk through the streets of the
city she had even found a couple of galleries that promoted local artist she
was very impressed.

 Taking off
her shoes she made her way to the bed to lay down.

The ringing of her phone woke her up from a nap.

“Hello”

“Bette, Hey its me”

“T, what time is it?” Bette sat up

 Tina giggled

“it’s almost 6pm…Have you’ve been asleep all this
time?”

“No, I woke up ordered room service, and went out
for a walk…I laid down for a second….I must have fallen asleep”

“I guess I didn’t realize how tired I was” Bette
chuckled

“You deserve to rest Bette, I know how hard you
work, I’m sorry I’m stuck here”

“Tina really you had no idea I was coming down don’t
worry about me ok…I brought some work with me, I’ll keep myself busy…You think
you’ll be back anytime soon should I wait for you before I order dinner?”
