Bette paused, allowing Helena to catch up with her; she too seemed glowing. Bette wondered why, her own radiance had everything to do with the way Tina had woken her up, but with Helena, the cause was a little more mystifying.
“I …” Bette began, reminded of Lottie waiting quietly in the wings for her input, she sighed, “yeah, I need to get on that.”
They walked into The Planet, to be met by Shane who was just on her way out, dark shades on and looking like she’d forgotten for the day that good-looking hair was her business.
“Hey,” said Bette, stopping her in her tracks, “rough night?”
Shane lifted her glasses for a moment and frowned in Helena’s direction, she forced a grin, “Ask her!”
Bette raised her eyebrows, nodding; clearly the party from The Planet had gone on elsewhere.
“I’ve got to go,” Shane mumbled, “Carm will have my tits in a vice if I’m late picking Freddie up.”
And with that she bumbled past them, leaving Helena little time to point out that her shirt buttons were done up wrong.
“Sometimes I still can’t get my head around the fact she’s a mother,” said Helena, “Shane with a baby, somehow the very concept turns the world on its head.”
She stopped, realising then that Bette was looking at her strangely,
“What?”
Bette shrugged, “Nothing, just you’re very philosophical this morning … that’s all.”
Helena stuck her tongue out, “Fuck you Bette …” she pushed the other woman jovially, “Now, buy me a coffee or I wont help you with your little *mission*.”
Bette left her to it, joining Kit at the counter to order their drinks, not before she noted and recognised the odd, familiar look that passed between Helena and Alice as Helena went to join the bubbly blonde and Che at their breakfast table.
Kit greeted her with a kiss, “Hey babysis,”
“Hey,” Bette couldn’t help but look behind her, “What’s with those two?”
“Which two?”
“Alice and Helena.”
Kit frowned, not seeing anything unusual, “What?”
Bette sighed, “Never mind.”
“Alice is helping babysit,” said Kit as she made them all drinks,
“Uh huh.”
“Bette?”
“Hmn?”
Kit shook her head silently, “We talked about this …” she said in a hushed voice, “remember? … about childcare,”

WELCOME BACK and what a way to come back with an NC17. way to go, payback s on hold now though considering Angie’s little mishap and Bette’s meltdown about that.

glad your back, i’ve missed this story. wanted to say that even though they are all friends, have they ever thought or if anyone’s ever pointed out that maybe bette doesn’t want everyone speculating about her and tina’s sex life. they all know they do it alot, but they don’t always have to acknowledge that know.
Welcome back. Great update. So glad Kit set Bette and Helena straight so they could get the butts in gear. Can’t wait to see B&T reaction to Angie’s mishap.
I hope Bette reigns in that temper of hers, She was ok with Angie going to Shane’s shop. Skateboarding can be dangerous and when you do things that are dangerous there is the possibility that you may get hurt. A broken arm will heal, but sometimes broken relationships with family don’t.
I’m so glad you’re back. I loved this chapter. Can’t wait for the next one. I do know about working taking you away from writing. It sucks. Luved it!! PPS

ah, i have to re-read, i read too fast…too eager…ok, that was fantastic, because it was realy well crafted as a story, but then i say that every time, because its true. you’re a born storyteller. is a boy hitting on lottie? why didn’t helena and alice get it on? lol…ok, ok, you don’t write to please only me, but the scene with tina and bette was…hehe…daaaamn good. ok, more comments tomorrow, when i’m giving a onger chance to read this long story in cut and pasted form. xoxo
Oh wow, I was so happy to read this chapter. As usually, I am always late to the party and probably last to comment, but hey I am here. Lottie is going to feel so bad about Angie’s accident but even if she was there nothing could have been done to prevent it from happening. I always love Bette and Tina adult alone time.
Damn B&T are hot, hope Angie is ok!
If you took your time getting back to us at least you came back with an epic. Gracious! So very much going on! Since that’s the case, I think I’ll refrain from revising my comments-at least for now. I’d really appreciate it if you would send Kit over to my place to offer sage advice and tell Lottie I’ll gladly run interference for her with the suits in exchange for a percentage.
Ruh roh. As others have said, I do hope Bette is relatively calm… but who knows, it might be Tina that goes off on one. Auntie Kit’s advice to Bette and Helena, as always, was spot on. Maybe her cooler head will prevail in the Saga of the Broken Arm. Such a good update, sofa, thanks.
