A day passed and Ashleigh had still not spoken to Shaun. Shaun went as far as to leave every time Ashleigh would be near—to the library, to the store, anywhere to get away from Ashleigh.
“Hey, Shaun, are you busy?” Ashleigh asked as Shaun walked by her one evening.
“I’m going to the store…”
“I’ll go with you.” Ashleigh stood up and grabbed her jacket.
“Ashleigh…”
“Either you’re going to talk to me here or talk to me at the store. Which will it be?”
“Fine. Talk.”
“What’s going on with us? Why have you been so distant?”
“It’s nothing. It’s just nothing.”
“No, it’s something. I know it is. You’re my best friend and, all of a sudden, you’re not talking to me.”
“God, are you that fucking blind?!” Shaun took two calculated steps closer to Ashleigh. Ashleigh had never been afraid of Shaun, but the look in her eyes did scare her a bit. She couldn’t read her, or estimate her thoughts. Not like she usually could. She came closer and reached for Ashleigh. Ashleigh didn’t know whether to resist—she didn’t know what would be happening next.
Shaun brought her close to her and kissed her lips squarely.
“That’s why I’ve been avoiding you, because I’ve wanted you since the moment we met.”
“Shaun…”
“Don’t. Please, don’t say another word. I know what comes next.” Shaun turned to leave, “I’ll be at the library, if you’d like to talk.”

She didn’t remember looking up her address. She really didn’t remember getting in the car or the drive over. She just remembered Bette’s face when she opened the door. She remembered how her eyes looked like the eyes of a child on Christmas morning—so big, bright, and so happy to see her. The image of Bette’s figure—head to toe—was forever etched into her brain.
She wasn’t sure how long she could last in this woman’s presence.
“AJ, what are you doing here?”
“I need a place to stay the night. I really hope that’s not against the rules—to let me stay with you for just one night.”
Bette didn’t refuse. She moved to the side and allowed Ashleigh in.

Hello Ash, this was beautiful, unfortunately sometimes the emotions we invoke in people cannot be reciprocated, sometimes our desires and needs lie elsewhere. It is nice when things can work out like Bette and Alice and that the friendship can remain, but that isn’t always the case. I love it that sometimes desire takes over us completely, we should never be afraid to give in and let go, we only live this one life at the one time and we should take all these blessings in stride, I hope that this can and will work out for these two, Bette needs someone to show her desire and someone who can accept her desire as well and Ashleigh seems like she can. Awesome, awesome, spectacular. You are Brilliant my friend, Sincerely, JC
wow…the old horndog fell asleep with the job half-finished!!!! Young women with 40 year olds is so common and Bette/JB is so beautiful that Ms Ashleigh certainly has struck it rich her first time around…wonder how long they’ll last b4 the age-thing becomes problemmatic? and how will Angelica take this? let alone Tina? and Alice & Kit etc.? From experience they’ll think the old dog’s gone loopy or is pre-menopausal!!!! Anyway Ashleigh enjoy it while you’ve got it and until the world steps in to colour it grey…Nice writing btw.

Who CARES what Tina, Alice and Kit think! If they cared about her they would want her to be happy, and I want them to be happy too. They are sooo hot… and I am finding Shaun most obnoxious…apparently she wanted Ashleigh to read her mind and then got pissed at her when she didn’t, let alone have any indication that Ashleigh returned those feelings. I just want Ashleigh to treat Bette well and love all of her, not have it just be about the sex.

Ashleigh is one lucky lady! She finally got to sleep with Bette Porter and it seems that it was the experience of a lifetime. Unfortunately, she still needs to deal w/ her roomate. I wonder if Shaun made it home after he confesssion? Is she wondering where Ashleigh stayed for the night? I hope Shaun doesn’t get vendictave when she realizes that Ashleigh has been with Bette. PPS! Can’t wait to read what is next for Bette and Ashleigh. is Bette going to introduce Ashleigh to her friends? How will Ashleigh react if she meets Alice now that Bette has shared a little about their past? So many things could happen…
