Tell Me Again – Chapter 1

    -UCLA Dorms-

Tina had been sorting through belongings and packing her things when she came across a beat up old shoebox that had been hiding under her small uncomfortable bed for the last three years. She pulled the old box out from under her bed and opened it, revealing its content. It was full of notes ranging from middle school all the way up to her senior year in high school along with various items that she had planned on putting in a scrap book long ago. She smiled as she dumped the memories out of the box and on to the bed. As she continued to read, memories started flying back to her one after another. It felt like it was just yesterday when the comfort of being a teenager was stripped from her and she was pushed in to the lions den that was the real world.

    -Portland, Oregon (Three years ago)-

Tina peaked out from under the blanked and glared at her alarm clock. She reached her tired arm out from underneath the warm fleece and smacked the snooze button. Satisfied with the silence she rolled back over and closed her eyes. Not more than two minutes later her bedroom door flung open and her mother came walking in.

Susan: Tina, come on, get up. You havent graduated yet, youve still got another week she said sternly as she opened all the blinds in Tinas usually dim room.

Tina: Come on mom, ten more minutes she pleaded

Susan: Nope, lets go she replied, pulling Tinas protective shield that was her blanket, to the floor. Jen is downstairs waiting for you, seems you were supposed to go to the dark room this morning before school

Tina: *****! she yelled as she jumped out of the bed.

Susan Kennard shook her head and handed her daughter a towel as she raced out the door and in to the hallway.

Tina: Im sorry, im sorry she shouted to Jen as she passed the living room, on her way in to the bathroom.

Tina had some sort of weird talent for getting ready fast. She could be in and out of the shower in eight minutes flat, add another five and she was done. Tina grabbed her camera and slid on a pair of flip flops and she hurried out the door and in to her best friends awaiting Saturn.
