Tell Me Again – Chapter 12

I hung up the phone and quickly scurried off to the bathroom.

    –Casa de Momzilla–

I sped down the driveway and parked behind my brother.  I was sure my mom was going to freak on me for driving so fast.  She always did.  Damn, I was in a ***** mood.  I was defiantly not in the mood to be dealing with family.  Except for Alizabeth, I always wanted to hang out with her.  She looked up at me with her big brown eyes as I walked into the kitchen.  At least she was always happy to see me.  As soon as I took a step towards her she knew what was coming.  She smacked her cheerios onto the ground and stretched out her arms as she anxiously waited for me to pick her up.

Tina:  See, this is how I always expect to be greeted.

Sherri laughed; at least someone thought it was funny.

Tina:  So where are we going?

    Susan:  Higgins

I could deal with that, they had a great wine list.  Adam strapped a reluctant Alizabeth in her car seat and we were off.  I followed them to the restaurant and checked my watch.  Lets see how long it takes them to mention school again.

    –Higgins–

Once we were seated I immediately ordered a cocktail, it was my birthday, and I was aloud to drink fancy.  Surprisingly enough they were somewhat cordial and dinner went by smoothly.  Almost too smoothly, perhaps I should be scared.

Adam paid the check and we were off.  I said good bye and climbed in my car.  Without a hitch I was off to the Copper Dog to meet Jen.

    –Copper Dog–

My bad mood started to fade as soon as I walked in to the dimly lit bar.  Jen walked out of the bathroom and waved me down.  I waved back in the most dramatic way I could and joined her at the table she had already secured for us.

Tina:  I wonder if all these people came out for my birthday I joked noticing the bar was busier than usual.

Jen:  I was thinking it was because it was open mic night but now that you mention it youre probably right
