Tell Me Something Good – Chapter 17

    previously…

Bette and Tina laid on their sides and looked into each other’s eyes, smiling. Tina reached for Bette’s hand and entwined their fingers. She placed it over her heart. “I love you Bette Porter,” she whispered. “I love you then, I love you now.” Tina leaned forward and kissed Bette on the lips. She leaned back, still holding the brunette’s hand. “Now…tell me something good.”

Bette scooted closer to Tina and leaned over her. She kissed her on the lips and leaned back to rest her head in the palm of her head. She smiled at the blonde who was now looking up at her. “I want to marry you.”

    Chapter 17

Tina stared at her lover, not believing what she heard. “You do?” She knew she wanted to get back together with Bette, but marriage was a whole different story. When they were together in Los Angeles, they had discussed marriage often, but deciding on a commitment ceremony instead.

Bette smiled. “Yeah, I do,” she whispered. “I’m letting you know what my intentions are.” She placed a gentle kiss on the blonde’s lips. “I want us to be a family…Angelica, you and me.”

Hearing Bette tell her that she wanted to marry her…was that the one final thing she was waiting for? “Wow…I don’t know what to say. I mean, I want us to be a family too.” She looked at her lover, whose eyes were truly the windows to her soul, eyes so expressive and so beautiful. There were times when all she had to do was to look in her eyes and she would know just what her brunette lover was thinking. The last year of their relationship…the last eight months of their relationship had been difficult.

Tina grabbed Bette’s nape and pulled her down to her. The gentle kiss deepened to ferocious kiss. One tongue trying to dominate the other…neither really wanting to win or concede. Tina flipped Bette and gyrated her hips against her lover. She placed a leg between Bette’s legs and began to grind.  Never taking her eyes of the brunette’s chocolate orbs, she took her Bette’s hands in hers and raised it above the brunette’s head.

“Shit, T…that feels so good.” Bette moaned.

    1. Thank you for a lovely update. Yes it might seem like that are going full steam ahead, but they’ve both had five years to think about things so I think that they just might be ready for phase two of their relationship. Woohoo to them!

    3. Hmm… Tina didn’t really say yes, but then, that wasn’t exactly a proposal that Bette made. ;) I think they’ve made their intentions pretty clear though. Thanks for the post! :)

    4. i don’t get yourself down about the other chapter I for one thought it was great… but you have exceeded yourself it would seem with this chapter. Great story.

    5. teegirl first of all I want to say that you are doing a great job with this story. It’s one of my favorites and I look forward to where you are taking it. I hope you will indulge me a bit as I make a comment in response to your AN. I am not a big proponent of gratuitous sex in stories where there is no purpose other than writing hot graphic sex scenes for the reader’s enjoyment so unless that is your purpose in writing NC17’s into this story then I would say forget about what the readers will think and get into your character’s hearts instead. This is Bette and Tina’s story and if it doesn’t feel right for them then it won’t feel right for you as the writer. This was a poignant moment for Bette and Tina as they progress their new relationship to the physical realm in consumating the feelings of love that they never lost even after years of separation. If I was to say what bothered me about the previous chapter it was when Bette hesitated and Tina asked if there was something wrong. Bette’s response is what felt wrong to me. Tina had feelings of inadequacies while Bette was thinking just the opposite and that just expressed how disconnected they still were at this point. To me Bette and Tina’s physical sex is secondary to their heart connection and I think that is what was missing for me. In the previous paragraph you describe Bette as awestruck not believing Tina was there with her knowing she didn’t deserve this second chance but very grateful for it. I think you missed an opportunity to show that even after five years of separation they were still so intuned that Bette could read Tina and Tina could read Bette. Tina should have known but if she needed assurance then Bette’s response should have been assuring. Bette needed to let Tina see her heart and how cherished she was in that moment that she left her speechless. Bette started out great by saying you’re perfect but then bringing up their last time when the sex was so violent and painful changed the vibes for me. I didn’t understand why Bette thought to bring it up in that moment and I didn’t understand Tina’s response. I don’t recall if in all their previous conversations that they’ve ever talked about that night but for Bette to associate it with their lovemaking and for Tina to think she would disappoint makes me feel like neither really understood what happened between them and how broken they were. Since it was brought up then I think it needed to be explored and given more credence than it was given. It’s an important part of their history that they can’t ignore, however I don’t think the time or place for that conversation was during lovemaking because it had nothing to do with lovemaking or even sex. As for the quality of your NC17’s I can’t judge but I think you should consider what you are comparing them to before you beat yourself up. If you want inspiration for the ultimate NC17’s that have all the ingredients to enhance the story tastefully just watch the original TiBette on the L Word in their love scenes. Bette and Tina’s intimate moments were very expressive in how they communicated with their bodies yet it wasn’t necessary to have graphic nudity or even much talking for you to feel the chemistry and connection of two people that shared a deep love, respect and affection despite all their problems. Even the violent sex scene managed to portray their love. As for the story Bette and Tina are moving pretty fast, and it’s understood that they’ve wasted five years and they don’t want to waste anymore but neither of them is going anywhere so give them the time to slow down and lay a strong foundation to build a family. Keep the dialogue going because it’s their lack of communication that usually causes their downfall. Also I know they will need their couple time and you will feel pressured to write their sex scenes but please don’t let the NC17’s overtake the beautiful family storyline that you’ve given us so far. I’d love to see more of Bette’s growing relationship with Angie as well as Angie and Tina getting closer to Kit, the rest of the gang, and even Rufus. In most stories (as it was on the show) Angie just becomes background noise once Bette and Tina get together; I would be disappointed to see it happen here but I trust you will not disappoint. Thank you.
