That’s What Friends Are For [Chapter Four]
“Hi, I’m Tina Kennard.”
The first man stepped forward and kissed her on both cheeks before pulling back and smiling. “I’m Harrison, Dana’s boyfriend.” He winked a few times, although it didn’t seem like he was aiming for subtle. “And this, Tina, is my good friend Marcus.”
Tina smiled at the man as he stepped into view. He was a handsome man, with blond curly hair and dazzling blue eyes. She couldn’t help but stare. “Hello, Marcus.”
“Hello Tina, it’s very nice to meet you.” He moved forwards and carefully grasped her wrist, where he continued to place small kisses on the back of her hand. “Dana has mentioned your name a few times.”
“All good things, I hope?” Tina said as she looked pointedly at Dana, who seemed oddly uncomfortable. Then she looked up at Harrison and a look of confusion swept over her face. “Is Dana closeted?”
He nodded slowly and there was a look on his face, as if he was telling somebody that his mother had just died. Then Harrison and Dana were engaged in conversation. Tina looked up at Marcus and flashed a smile.
“Are you Harrison’s’ boyfriend?”
Marcus seemed to find this extremely amusing since he threw his head back and laughed loudly. “No, no, I don’t think so. He’s very charming, but I do love my women.”
“Well, I am glad. There seem to be a lack of heterosexual males around nowadays.”
“You’re just looking in the wrong places, darling. I know that for a fact because you met Dana in a lesbian cafe.”
Tina blushed deeply but nodded in agreement. “I suppose so.”
Just as she opened her mouth to say something else, she felt a gentle pat on her shoulder. Tina spun around and beamed when she saw Bette, holding out a glass of red wine. “This is for you, pretty lady.”
She took the glass from Bette’s grasp and politely thanked her. In fact, she could barely talk since her insides were going crazy due to Bette’s miniscule compliment.
“I see you’ve met Marcus…” Bette smiled at him, “Hello Marcus.”
He cleared his throat, diverted his eyes and answered in a well-mannered voice. “Hello, Bette.”

Ok, I am a Bette fan, and not a Tina fan, but even I am with Tina in this one…I would leave too. It doesn’t fit that Bette would be flirtatious with Tina, invite her to lunch, invite her to the party and then be all over someone else in front of her. WHAT DID JODI DO?????
Well, I don’t feel sorry for Bette at all. The way to win a girl over isn’t to flirt with her, almost kiss her, invite her to a party and make out with someone else right in front of her. At least, that hasn’t worked with anyone I know. Maybe Tina needs to go on a date with someone really attentive so that Bette will get her act together.
I’m sensing some trouble starting i think tina needs to stop with the little hints and make her intentions know! bette needs to talk with tina and she where she is at… gosh please make these two talk and not play games too long, lol unless the games are FUN games, lol
Loving your story. I actually like teasing and flirting, but agree that Bette could have bypassed the make out. Tina with Marcus may prompt Bette to admit her attraction. Look forward to your next post!
I have the next post. It’s picking the right time to actually post it, that is the problem.
Haven’t you heard, there’s no time like the present? Post it already!
Wow, Bette. That was an epic failure. *facepalm*
Agree with Lamentamini, that was completely disastrous. What was she thinking? Can’t believe Bette did that. Like the story a lot. PPS
I just caught up. This is a very intriquing story. Being a Tibette fan, I can’t wait to see how they finally get together (if they do, and I sure hope that they do).
hope they will work thing out!
