That’s What Friends Are For [Chapter Twelve]

    “I said-”

    “I heard you.”

Dana bit down on her bottom lip and frowned. Alice loved her? When did that happen? She couldn’t deal with it right now; she had to get away… Instead of responding to Alice, she grabbed her bag and rose to her feet – alerting the attention of several customers and more importantly, Lara.

“Dana…” Alice quickly followed suit, “Please stay, talk to me.”

    “I have to go, sorry.”

She shrugged away Alice’s hand before turning on her heel and heading towards the door, completely ignoring Lara’s attempt of intervening.

“Oh fuck.” Alice slumped down in her seat and buried her face in her hands. “What have I done?”

    Chapter Twelve Part Two:

“You made pancakes?” Bette asked in delight as she entered the buzzing kitchen.

Tina turned away from the frying pan to kiss Bette on the lips before returning to the task of making breakfast.

    “You like pancakes, don’t you?”

Bette wrapped her arms around the blonds’ midriff and nuzzled behind her ear. “I love anything that you make me, Tee.”

“Mm, good…” Tina expertly flipped a pancake before carefully putting it on the ever-growing stack beside the oven. “How are you this morning, babe?”

She felt Bette grin against her head; it seemed to be contagious because Tina couldn’t help but smile. As she began to pour some more batter into the pan, Bette reached up and took a hold of her hands, stopping her from continuing.

“How do you think I am? I made love to the woman that I’ve fallen for, for the first time last night. It was mind-blowing. We not only did it once, but we continued throughout the night and when I woke up, I was greeted with the wonderful smell of pancakes.”

Tina turned around in Bette’s arms and looked up at her, a toothy smile on her face.

“It sounds like you might be in a good mood.”

Bette chuckled deeply, causing Tina’s knees to shake and a shiver to shoot up her spine.

    “How are you?”

Tina cupped her cheek, brushing her thumb over her full lips before drawing her head closer and connecting their lips. It didn’t last long though because Tina’s attention was bought back the pancake, which was sizzling furiously on the stove.
