Alice: “Licence and registration please”

Shane: “What”

Alice: “You been drinking”.  As Shane went to push Alice, Alice grabbed hold of Shanes arm spinning her round into a wrist lock.

Shane:  “Ahhhhh dude”

Alice: “Don’t resist, you have the right to remain silent, anything you do or say can be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to an attorney and the names Pieseki, Alice Pieseki” She spun Shane round to face her and smiled, Shane rubbed her wrist.

Shane: “Dude you watch to many movies” the girls all laughed.

Alice: “Now that’s what you call Policing”.

Bette took a deep breath and walked into the gym, a group of guys standing near the door stopped talking mid sentence their gaze following Bette as she walked across the floor to a group of girls.

Bette: “Well if it isn’t my most favourite duo in the world” her teeth glistened as a huge smile formed on her face.

Alice: “Beeeetttteeeee” Alice jumped on her almost knocking her down “Did ya miss me”

Bette: “How could I not” she smirked at Shane.

Shane: “Hey Cous”she gave her a hug.  Tina couldn’t help but stare at Bette totally taken aback by her beauty, her long wavy curls that fell around her face, her smile that seemed to light up the room.

Bette: “Quite a few people here”

Shane: “Yeah, oh hey meet our new roommates this is Helena”. “She shook her hand

Bette: “Nice to meet you”

Shane:  “And this is Tina”.  Bette froze for a minute before taking Tina’s hand in her’s

Bette: “Nice to meet you Tina” she stared intensely into Tina’s green eyes

Tina: “Meet to nice you…I..I mean nice to meet you to”. Bette let out a little chuckle and gave her a warm smile. Tina realised that she was still holding onto Bette’s hand and quickly let it go. 

Bette: “So you’re both living with these two”

Helena: “Yeah we had the grand tour just before coming here”

Bette: Ï don’t know whether to be happy for you or worried” she laughed.

Alice: “Hey Porter don’t scare the new roomies, it’s going to be fun beers and 20 questions in the hot tub tonight”

Bette:  “Oh God”

The gym doors swung open and 3 Police Officers walked in

Cop 1: “Line up maggots””.  The gym grew quite.”

Alice: “Did he just call me a maggot”

Tina:  “Ah Yep”

Cop 1: “Are you deaf, I said line up”.  Everyone scrambled into line. “Heads up, eyes forward”.

Jackson: “I’m Sargent Jackson, to my left is Sargent Thompson, my right Sargent Smith.  And for the next 10 months your asses are ours”.

Thompson: “This is no walk in the park we are not your friends, we train the most elite Police Officers in the country and we will break you, push you beyond your limits, think you know what pain is….think again. If you don’t think you can handle it walk now”

No one broke the line.

Smith: “We are you worst nightmare ladies, our faces will be the first thing you will seen in the morning and the last thing you will see before you go to sleep at night.

Alice:  “Nightmares all round”.  Bette let a laugh slip.

Smith: “Seems like we have a comedian in the group” he looked over to Jackson.

Jackson walked over to Bette.

Jackson: “Something funny cadet”.  Bette new instantly that she had made a big mistake letting her laugh slip.

Bette: “No”. Jackson raised his voice and Bette could see in his eyes he was angry.

Jackson: “No what cadet”

Bette: “No Sargent”.  Jackson’s eyes burned deep into Bette’s challenging her.  Bette adverted her gaze to the left.

Jackson: “Do we have any other comedians in the group”  there was a silence

Thompson: “Don’t think we have any takers Sarg” Bette let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding as Jackson walked away.

Jackson:  “ Ok settle in get a good night sleep because our day starts at 0500 in the gym, make sure you get your uniforms off Sargent Smith on your way out.  Welcome to the Academy”.
