…-*The Accident*-…
Bette slowed her pace down as she noticed the gas light was blinking.
“Fuck..” She said in a frustrated whisper as she turned into the closest gas station. She filled her tank and was off again. She looked for a sign. She found herself often looking for signs these days. Whether it was a red flag when she was with someone or just a sign that maybe something new, something better was about to approach and enter her life. As she drove she found she was sick of driving and pulled into a parking lot where she left her vehicle behind and walked. Bette found herself in a park, walking aimlessly around the paved walk ways. She was about to turn back when she noticed a glint a blonde in catch her eye. About twenty feet away sat someone on a bench under a park light. Bette figuring she had nothing to lose called out to the figure.
“Need some company…?” The blonde woman who seemed deep in her thoughts jumped and looked around finding another tall figure standing twenty feet off in darkness. Bette noticed her squint and try to make her out so she walked forward entering the circle of light that protruded from the light bulb that hung a long way above.
“I wouldn’t mind some company…” The woman spoke softly. Bette smiled and walked over taking her seat beside the blonde.
“Often come to parks at night?” Bette asked softly. The blonde shook her head and folded her hands on her lap as she crossed her legs. Bette noted that the woman was highly attractive. Hazel eyes, blonde hair, lovely complection… Completely straight was the final thought.
“I don’t usually, I just needed to let off some steam.” She stated before she offered Bette her hand. “I’m Tina Kennard.” Bette smiled and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“Bette Porter.” The brunette replied. Tina smiled and nodded.
“I know who you are.” Bette was taken aback by this statement and raised her eyebrows in surprise.
“Really? How exactly do you know me…?” Bette asked in a tone that didn’t mask her feelings.
“ I’ve been in your gallery down on Shelby…. I was going to have a meeting with you in regards to the price of the Amelia Nolan painting entitled ‘Showers in June’ but uhhhmmm…….” Tina paused then continued. “You blew me off.” Bette tried hard to remember but then it hit her like a half ton truck.
“Miss. Kennard….. I apologize…. It completely slipped my mind… that was last Thursday wasn’t it?” The blonde nodded.
“Yes… Yes it was.” Bette felt incredibly stupid at this news. But imagine…. meeting the blonde woman in the middle of Los Angeles in a deserted park…. in Bette’s mind one word was flashing in bright pink and purple lights…. sign.
“You know Miss. Kennard…”
“Tina.” The blonde interjected and the brunette paused.
“Tina… it’s getting chilly, and I think I owe you a coffee…. would that be alright?” Bette watched on as Tina considered the offer before flashing Bette a smile.
“Yes Bette, I do believe that you owe me a coffee…. Lead the way.” Tina motioned with a leather glove clad hand and so they walked in the direction together toward Bette’s Saab…..

Great start to this story. Interesting way for them to meet and if you want Tina’s eyes to be blue, then go for it! Your story, your eye color. PS.
Cute…though, I can’t believe Alice cheated on her. Who in the hell would cheat on Bette? I mean, really? PPS
Hey guys, its a story not fact. I like it, any story that bring Bette and Tina together works from me. Like the twist on how they met. Now on to that coffee.
