The B Word Chapter 54 Brunch & Backlash

Its was Sunday morning the day after Tinas Banquet and Dominics Temper Slamming
Tantrum.

The scene takes place at the Planet.

Kit, and Frank are getting everything ready for the First Sunday Brunch of the Month.
Frank I really like your idea to have a Sunday Brunch the First Sunday of the Month Kit said has she was getting everything ready to open for the day.

Joseph comes walking into the Planet.
Here is your organized guest list..Also we have Christopher who is going to be playing the piano. Joseph added as he introduced Christopher to Kit and Frank.
Thanks so much for being able to do this Christopher. Kit said with a smile.
No thank you it will give me a chance to perform in front of a live audience.
Christopher said as Kit led him to where the piano was located.

Can I get you a juice, coffee, or cappuccino? Kit asked
A cappuccino would be fabulous. Christopher replied.

Joseph come here and see the creations Lara and Frank have made for today.
Kit said in a very excited voice.

Frank this is wonderful. Maybe you might get some private clients to cook for out of this. Joseph said.

So Joseph how is the film going you are working on? Kit asked.
Its taking longer then they had expected.I cant believe how wonderful all the major actors are towards meI just am in awe. Joseph shared.
Actually I think there might be some talk that Jenny was going to come on the set to help with one of the writers who got sick. Joseph added

Oh she needs that break so much she will really appreciate it. Kit adds.
So when is Maria and them suppose to get here? Joseph asked.
Im not sure ..but it should be pretty soon. Kit said.

Just then a handsome black man who looked like an old football player turned
actor walked into the planet carrying a large arrangement of lilies.

Good Morning Gorgeous The man said to Kit as he handed her the arrangement.
Well I didnt expect you Thomas? Kit said with a gleam in her eye.
I know .I just thought since I kept you out late last night I could at least come here and see you this morning. Thomas said as he took off his sunglasses.
Wow that really means a lot to me that you came here today Thomas. Kit said as she
sat the flowers on the stand near the stained glass window.

A few couples started coming in for the brunch. Then a couple of large groups.
Joseph was sitting with Thomas.
So what is the movie you are acting in? Thomas asked Joseph.
Oh its a movie based on a family who has to move to another country because of a threat to their lives. Joseph said.

So what is it that you do Thomas? Joseph asked.
Oh I use to play in the NFL but I retired a couple of years ago because of nagging injuries. Thomas added. Now I dip in little business adventures.
Actually one of my partners is coming here to meet me. Thomas adds.

Maria dropped off Bette, Tina, and the baby while she parked the car.
I am so happy for Kit.this is going to make this a very popular hangout. Tina said.
Well lets hope so.I know she has been very successful so far. Bette said as she was holding Anna Bella.

They came walking into the Planet.Maria was right behind them with Alice, Dana, and Shane.
Look who I found in the parking lot. Maria stated as she pointed to the three friends.
Hey Alice, Shane, and Dana! Tina said as Bette waved to them and then lift up

Oh she is getting so adorable Dana stated as she smile at Anna Bella.

Good morning ladies Kit said as she gave them all a quick hug.
I have a table waiting for you right over here. Kit added.

Kit this looks fabulous Alice states as she scopes out the girls.
They all sat down and Kit took their order.I will have this out to you shortly. Kit said as she went back to give Frank the order.

Joseph came over to the table to say hello.
Oh look its Mr. Hollywood. Maria jokes as she hugged Joseph.
Yes ladiesyou have a star amongst you. Joseph joked.
Joseph I might be on the set next week filling in for the make-up person. Shane added.
I will keep my eyes out for you. Joseph said.

I would love to but I am sitting over there with Kits friend Thomas. Thomass business partner is suppose to meet us. Joseph added as he went back to his seat.

The gang was enjoying their cappuccinos while waiting for their food to be ready.
Maria what happened to your cheek it looks like you have a bruise. Alice asked.
Tina, Maria, and Bette didnt say anything they just looked at their drinks.
Its a bruise isnt it Alice said persistently.
I got hit last night. Maria confessed.

Oh.Dana said not wanting to upset Maria.


You see Dominic in a heated conversation with someone while he was still sitting in his car. He is outside of the restaurant.

I just want to know what kind of job you have? Dominic said sternly
Well you better find a good one since you have a baby on the way! Dominic screamed into the phone.
What do you mean you dont know! Dominic yelled.
All I know is that you better provide for that child or I will kick your *****. Dominic stated
He hung up the phone and went inside the Planet.
He came in looking for Thomas who was suppose to meet him here.
Thomas waved to him.
Hey big guy.Dominic said as he shook Thomass hand.
Hey Joseph..How is that acting contract working out for you? Dominic said as he shook Josephs hand.
Dominic sat down and Kit brought him over a menu.

Oh *****! Bette said as she took her napkin off of her lap and placed it on the table.
She started to get up but Tina shot her a look.Bette not heredont spoil Kits day.

Dominic went crazy last night when he found out that Maria.. Tina said

Dominic saw them but he was too embarrassed to go over after what happened last night.
He got a call on his cell phone. Excuse me guys Im going to take this outside.
What is it Bryan? Dominic said.
You are serious you didnt even know? Dominic replied back
You need to take care of your responsibilities or I will have someone take care of you!
Dominic restated his advice from the first call then he hung up the phone.

Dominic! Bette said as she walked up on him.
Oh Bette .Im sorry I didnt see you. Dominic said
Cut the damn bullshit Dominic! Bette said. What the fuckWhy did you have to hit Maria last night? She was just trying to be honest with you..
Bette was turning red..Tina walked out there and stood between them.
Bette..not here! Tina said sternly.
Look Bette I know I was wrongI know I was terribly wrongI let my emotions get the best of meThen when Maria called me that cuss word I just lost it.I love my daughtermore than anything.I was upset because I didnt want her to get hurt.
But then Im the one who hurt her. Dominic said as he his voice started to shake.

Dominic you cant just go around hitting women. Tina added.
I can understand your worry and disappointment. However that doesnt give you the right to hit a twenty five year old woman who is pregnant. Tina said.
Dominic didnt have anything to say for himself.
Please let me talk to her so I can make it better.I didnt sleep at all last night
I actually cried the whole night. Dominic stated.

What! we are suppose to feel sorry for your ***** after what you did to my sister?
Bette stated as she glared at Dominic.
You know she has a bruise on her cheek today! Bette added
Dominic just held his head down.
So what I am I suppose to do now? Just walk away from her? Dominic said.
I admit I made a mistake.but Im not going to run away from my daughter.

Maria comes outside and sees them talking.
Maria.you dont have to talk to him. Bette said as she grabbed Maria in a protective manner.
I know Bettebut you know we all do things we arent; proud of..we all make mistakes. Maria said.

Baby I am so sorry.Dominic said
Oh the Im sorry line— we have to listen to this bullshit! Bette stated as she folded
her arms.
Dad..I just need sometime right nowok.Maria said.

She turned around and walked back into the Planet.

Bette walked in after her.
Tina please help me? Dominic pleaded.
Dominic just give her time.you know that was very serious. Tina said.
As she opened up her purse and gave Dominic a card.
Look Oscar my boss as meeting once every two weeks for menwho have problems with domestic violence..He is really niceIf you want to stop by the center sometime this week I can introduce you to him. He could probably talk to you one on one first before going to a meeting. Tina stated.

But Im not violent .I just lost my temper. Dominic said
Dominic I understand what you are saying.but I think it would be in your best interest to take my advice. Tina shared.

Dominic it can only take one time.Look Bette will make it hard for you to have contact with Maria. However if you did the program with Oscar she might be able to realize how serious you are about changing. Tina said as she put her hand on Dominics shoulder and walked back into the Planet.

Marias phone started to ring.
Hello Maria said.
Oh I Bryan.how are you? Maria asked.
My father said what? Maria started to get a little heated.
No I got pregnant all by myselfWhat how do I know its yours?
You *****! Maria said then she hung up on Bryan.

He has his nerve Bette said.
The phone rang again.
Ill answer it this time! Better grabbed the phone.

Oh I am so sorry..here I will get her.. Bette handed the phone to Maria.
Hello? Maria replied.
Oh Hi Emily? Oh my sister was just playing around. This afternoon? Maria answered.
Well Im going with my sister and Tina to the beachbut you can come. Maria added.
We should be their about 3:00pm. Maria stated
