“I’m just saying that there is something going on with Bette.”
Alice and Shane were sitting at The Planet, waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. Shane was sipping her black coffee, trying to get Alice to stop prying. The woman was determined and perceptive enough to know that there was in fact something going on with Bette. The slender brunette could only hope that she didn’t add a particular blonde into that equation until the two were ready.
“”I don’t know what you’re talking about Al. Why don’t you…”
“Oh please Fatty. Come on now, Bette was here on Friday night being all Celi-Betty. And then she leaves in a hurry, Tina leaves like, two seconds later, we don’t hear from either of them all Saturday and then Bette calls this morning sounding like fuckin’ Santa Claus. They are totally hooking up! Ten bucks says they show up together.”
Shane sighed and looked away. Alice was more insightful than she thought. Still, the brunette knew that Bette and Tina were smart enough to not arrive at the same time, and she could use a little extra cash.
“I’ll take that and raise it to twenty. Tina arrives first.”
Tina walked in five minutes later; Bette arrived ten minutes after. They both were wearing huge smiles as they greeted their friends. Helena and Dana joined soon after and the group chatted animatedly with each other to discuss the weekend. Alice nudged Shane who signaled for her to pony up the dough. The blonde reluctantly slapped a twenty into her hand.
“What was that for?” asked Bette with a grin. She couldn’t wipe the smile off her face.
“A little bet,” said Shane with a wink and a shrug.
Bette let it go inadvertently stealing glances of the blonde sitting next to her. She was grateful for the crowded restaurant, forcing the group to sit at a smaller table, which meant Tina’s chair was much closer to hers than normal.
The Planet was packed, noisier than usual for a Sunday. The girls ordered their food and waited patiently as they all engaged in separate conversations. Tina and Dana; Helena, Shane, and Bette; Alice inserting herself in everyone’s conversation. After a while it shifted, and Tina was talking to Helena, Dana and Alice, and Bette and Shane.

I have the feeling Alice won’t let it lie, even after losing the bet with Shane. Loved the teasing during the abandoned bra fitting and I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Bette’s in for when Tina goes round. Thanks for posting! :)
