“Um, sure…I…that would be…great…thanks,” Bette stammered, unsure of how to be gracious at being taken care of. “Can…can I get dressed though?”
Tina laughed, the sound melodic, as she started to unpack the groceries. “If you feel it’s necessary,” she said with a grin.
Ten minutes later, the brunette emerged, wearing an old pair of jeans that hugged her figure perfectly and a simple black t-shirt. She wandered into the kitchen barefoot and wrapped her arms around Tina from behind, burying her nose in her hair, inhaling deeply.
“God you smell so good,” she whispered.
Tina leaned into the brunette’s touch, reveling in the feeling of those arms around her. Wanting to keep her word though, she shrugged out of Bette’s arms and turned around to hand her a glass of water and two Midol. She had to remember to breathe as she took in the sight of the brunette in her element, looking casual and stunning at the same time. Bette quickly took the pain relievers and downed the water, already feeling better due to the blonde’s surprise visit and hoping the pills would further her progress.
Tina then handed Bette a glass of Pinot Grigio and clinked their glasses together before taking a sip.
“Okay now shoo. Go relax while I finish dinner,” she said, leaning in and planting a quick kiss on the brunette’s mouth, swallowing hard as she realized how natural the simple gesture felt. She gave a gentle swat to the brunette’s backside who sauntered into the living room, suddenly feeling lighter than she had all day.
Thirty minutes later the two sat down at the table, dining on sautéed chicken, broccoli, and risotto. They sipped their white wine, recapping their days as Tina did her best to keep the brunette’s mind off her cramps and the stress of her job.
Bette was feeling much better from the medicine and talking to the blonde, but was still weak and slightly feverish. Tina gently stroked the hair back from the brunette’s forehead, feeling how warm she was.
“So this Jodi is giving you trouble?” Tina asked, raising an eyebrow as she took a bite of chicken.
“She’s not…she’s just…yes, she’s giving me trouble,” Bette responded with a laugh. She took a sip of wine before continuing. “I just really love her work so it means a bit of ass kissing in between, which I hate but it’s part of my job. Schmoozing the clients.”

Wonderful update. They are truly in love with each other and Bette has to be the one to say it first and she just might be surprised that it will not scare Tina away. Tina wants to be there with her all the time. Thanks for posting.
you know I was feeling crappy the whole day and this chapter took away whatever I was feeling.
I love how Tina took care of Bette. Whether or not she’s ready to hear Bette’s confession of love I think Tina is feeling the same way.
