    The Chase – chapter 11

Patty’s face crumbled when she saw Tina. «What… What… What are you doing here?», she stammered.

«I’m here with my friends…», Tina replied while Shane stared at them in disbelief. «You two know each other?», she asked.

«Didn’t she tell you she works for the L.A. Times?», Tina explained, her eyes never leaving Patty who looked so uncomfortable.

«Well, we just met last night…», Shane replied, implying that they hadn’t done too much talking… All of a sudden, Patty turned around and ran out of The Planet. «Oh no you don’t…», they all heard Tina mumbled under her breath as she bolted after her colleague.

«Not so fast», Tina told Patty in a harsh tone as she caught up with her outside. Her anger subsided when Patty turned around and Tina saw she was crying.

«I’m sorry, Tina. I know you must hate me…», she sobbed.

Tina sighed. «I don’t hate you, Patty. I just don’t understand… I thought you hated gays and sex and, you know, all that stuff»

«That’s what I wanted everyone to believe so they wouldn’t know I was a lesbian…». she said, whipping her eyes.

Tina was dumbfounded. «Why? It’s nothing to be ashamed of…»

Patty sighed and looked down. «Just before I was hired by the L.A. Times, I was working for a smaller newspaper. I let it slip out one day that I was gay and before I knew it, a few people made fun of me and called me names. I talked to my boss, but nothing changed. It got to the point that I had to quit to keep my sanity. When I got my new job, I swore that nobody would know a thing about my personal life, so I decided to put up an act…», Patty explained.

«I’m sorry you had to go through this Patty, I really am. People can be so hateful sometimes»,  Tina told her.

Patty gave her a surprised look. «You’re not mad at me ?»

«Why would I be ? I understand now why you acted the way you do and I’ll even let you in on a little something… I’m not just here with some friends, I’m here with Bette Porter. We’ve been going out for the past few weeks. I’m not with Brian, I only went out with him on two occasions before I found myself swept off my feet by a stunning brunette…», Tina admitted, giggling.

    1. M, I liked how you got Patty’s story into the light and it explained so much why she was like to Tina. It makes so much sense and I can understand why she did that. and how happy was Tina with Bette inviting her to be in Paris with her,,,it’s such a beautiful place I want togo again one day!! Great chapter M!!

    2. Paris in the rain.. aw that’s so sweet. and cute. so nice. hehehe i love this chapter but I have a feeling I’ll love the next chapters even more…;D

    3. Everything is progressing well with our girls, who are so in love that don’t bust Patty chops when she reveals her true self. What an opportunity lost. I can’t understand why Milady, but if I was Tina or Bette,I just would NOT have had the discipline not to verbal beat up on Patty every chance I get. I love Alice’s comments. She’s funny as HELL. Thanks for the update. PPS.

    4. Ooo, and I also wanted to thank you that Patty is not finally the bitch she seems to be, because it happens that I really like people with that name, especially One ;-))

    5. LOL I’ve always considered that most self-righteous puritans are envious people very unhappy with their life, who just want the rest of the worl to be as unhappy as they make themselves ;-) It’s even worse when they are closeted and openly reject what they are themselves… It seems that Patty has now rejoined the ranks of the “live and let live” LOL – Hope her and Tina will be able to back up one another to come out, so that neither of them has to suffer that kind of hate anymore :-) — As for B/T trip to Paris, I just hope that enough time has passed, because Paris is much nicer and much more romantic in April or May than in February… – just tell me when they intend to come by, and I’ll be happy to meet them under the Eiffel Tower or on the Seine’s embankments by the full moon ;-))

    6. OMG, lets hope they actually get to see Paris. Love this. Tina handled it so well with Patty, and will cut her some slack. Hopefully Shane hangs around longer than usual.

    7. Good chapter. Good to know why patty act the way she is and hope she not act like that anymore. B&T are sweet and cute, can’t wait to see they in Paris. Alice is so funny and gonna love her. Please post soon, thanks!
