The Chief and the intern – Chapter 22
Bette quickly gathered her things together and walks out of her office for the last time. She doesn’t look back. She walks into Camilla’s office.
“Hey, I’m leaving.” Bette says and stands in the doorway.
“Oh, so soon?” Camilla asks as she stands up and walks over to Bette.
“Yeah, look if you find something more that’s mine, will you give me a call, and I’ll come by and pick it up.” Bette says.
“Sure… Off course.” Camilla says and pulls Bette into a tight hug. “I wished all this played out differently.” Camilla says.
“Yeah, me too.” Bette says and lets go of the hug.
“Take care, and don’t let this bring you down. You are great at what you do, any company in the world will be lucky to have you.” Camilla says and smiles.
“Yeah, except the government.” Bette says grins.
“That’s just one stone among millions.” Camilla says.
“I know. Well, I should go, I’ll see you around.” Bette says and smiles as she walks out of the office, she says a quick goodbye to everyone and then she walks out fast. Leaving the card with Ingrid, giving her a hug then she’s on her way home, where Tina is waiting for her. She took a cab, the box with her things was to heavy to carry all the way home. On the way home she got a phone call, with a concrete job offer at a IT business in Los Angeles. She opens the door to her apartment and Tina rushes towards her.
“Hey, babe.” She says and takes Bette into a hug.
“Hey T.” Bette says. She pulls away from the hug, and places the box on the floor and then closes the door.
“Come on, let’s sit down. I’ve made coffee? You want some?” Tina asks.
“Yeah, thanks.” Bette replies.
“Kitchen.” Tina says and takes Bette’s hand and they walks into the kitchen.
Bette takes a seat while Tina pour her a cup. Tina sits down to and reaches out to hold Bette’s hand.
“Wanna talk about it?” Tina asks, looking lovingly and understandingly into Bette’s eyes.
“I do, but not right now. I just have to let it all sink in, okay?” Bette says.

i don’t know how can they handle 3 months and a half but surely you do, it’s good that Bette has other job opportunity and she is rigth the worst part of all this is that they didn’t believe her.
Three and a half months? OUCH! It will be lonely for Tina.
Great chapter, hope the next chapter or 2 are about the days leading up to Bette going back to the states and then the next chapter is 3 1/2 months later maybe by the middle of next week? What do you think? Please post ssoooooonnnnnnn!!!! Hope all is going well! THANK YOU!!!
Damn poor my Bette. 3 and a half months is long for them and time will go fast and they will see and be with each other again, and glad Bette have a new job. OK post soon please, thanks!
Damn those months better fly by quickly. I hate to see them apart for even a second but 4 months is a life time. Do you think that Tina can transfer schools without loosing any credit hours?
I hope you’ll update this story soon – it’s very sweet. I’m looking forward to how they will cope with the long distance thing….
Here’s hoping for a fast 3 1/2 months! And I figured Bette would be evicted since the apartment was pretty much part of the deal when she took her old job.
Holy cow that was fast they got rid of Bette – hope those 4 months goes faster than lightning :O) post soon
