‘Bette!’ Tina started tossing and turning sending the cucumber flying all over the place, this was alarming Bette so she rushed over and shook Tina until she was awake. ‘T, Tina, wake up, come on, Tina, wake up for me Tina, that’s it, Tina you were having a bad dream’. Tina is now crying so Bette pulls Tina’s head to her chest and holds her all the while telling her it was just a dream ‘you’re safe Tina, you’re awake now’.

Once Tina has calmed down she tells Bette about her dream ‘It was so real Bette, you were being tortured by Supernanny’ Tina laughs ‘I know it’s crazy but it’s like she was a maniac you know, you were screaming for me to help you and I couldn’t because she had tied me into my bouncer with rope and someone was force feeding me some milk’. ‘Okaaay’ Bette said somewhat disbelievingly.

‘Look, it was really real to me Bette’ Tina snapped seeing her disbelieving look.

Bette goes into the kitchen and brings back a mug of hot chocolate for each of them. ‘So are you feeling better now T?’ ‘Yeah, thanks Bette, you were really kind earlier, I’m sorry I shouted at you’ ‘Hey, no don’t worry about that, it’s understandable’ Bette smiled.

They chatted for a while about little things such as the weather; it had turned cold outside and they talked about how cute Alice and Dana were as a couple. There was eventually the inevitable lull in conversation, and this was when Bette decided to take the plunge and admit to Tina her real feelings.

‘T?’ ‘Yeah’ ‘I have something I need to tell you’ ‘Okay Bette what’s up?’ ‘Okay I’m gonna tell you but you have to promise not to but in when I am talking. Deal?’ ‘Deal’ Tina smiled.

Bette lets out a breath, incredibly nervous ‘Well, I’m er, I’m um’ ‘Just spit it out’ ‘I’m in love with you, I have been for as long as I can remember, I’m sorry but I have to tell you this, it’s been eating me up inside for forever’.

‘Wow’ Tina said, evidently shocked at this revelation from her best friend.

‘I need time to deal with this Bette, I’m sorry but I’m gonna go home’ Tina stands and walks out after grabbing her bag from the floor.

‘Well that didn’t go as planned’ Bette said aloud to no-one in particular.
