The escape… in the mirror
I called Alice on the next morning. “Hello, Tina is calling. Do you already have plans on Friday, I could need a good friend?” Alice is always very jerky and restless during the week, because she has the radio transmission “Good morning L.A.” and she goes on air early in the morning. So it was better, if we met each other on the weekend, there we had more time. “No, Friday is good. Would you like to go out?” “No, better not, not yet. Can we meet at my place? Around 8 o’clock?” “Okay, it’s okay. Tina?” “Yes.” “I could also come immediately, if you want?” “No, Friday is okay. Thanks.” “I’m pleased, see you.” “Bye.”
I prepared a few snacks, because I know that Alice loves this small Canapés with many different sorts of cheese. In addition I had bought a good bottle of red wine and I’m perfectly prepared. Alice comes, as usual, 10 minutes too late. She falls purposefully on the plate and begins to devour the first snack. “How are you?” she said with her mouth full “Very well at the time, thanks.” I started to tell her about the failure with Jamie and about my chat with LonelyHeart. I wanted that she knows everything, my thoughts, my feelings and that I had decided to live here with you again. And it doesn’t matter if you’re actually here or not, you are for me nevertheless. Alice only listened, said no word, and did not make the attempt to interrupt me. And so I could talk about everything that I had told to you in the last weeks and months, what I’ve been feeling in my soul for so long. Most of all I wanted that she knew of my decision to hold on you as long as possible in my life. Alice looked at me with her eyes wide open. “And? What do you say now to that?” “WOW.”
Her fixed stare told me that I had totally attacked her and probably she was out of one’s depth in this moment. “Give me a minute. I have to process that at first.” “Of course, meanwhile, would you like another glass of wine?” “Absolutely, best is you bring the whole bottle.”
