    The ex’s – Leigh

The first thing on Bette’s agenda was a phone call to Phyllis to confirm the selection for the arts professor. That call was followed by three more phone calls to the candidates. Two were thanked for their interest and told they would be kept in mind for future opportunities. The third was offered the job which she gracefully accepted. Bette made arrangement to meet with the successful candidate later that day for orientation then went into the conference room to meet with her faculty to announce the decision. Everyone was thrilled at the selection of Leigh Ostin as Jodi Lerner’s replacement.

When Bette got back to her office she saw an email from Tina advising that any day that week during the lunch hours would work for their session with Emma. Bette called Emma and they decided on Thursday at 1:30p. Emma liked the idea of doing the sessions over lunch in an informal setting. They selected a centrally located restaurant that offered outdoor patio seating. It was perfect for their first session. Bette met with Leigh for orientation and made the introductions to the team and some of the students. Leigh would be reporting to work the next day to start her classes. Bette finally got a breather as was able to call Tina at work.

“Hey babe. I miss you already.”

“I miss you too Tee. I can’t wait to see you tonight.”

“Me too. Did you get my email?”

“Yes I did. Emma can see us on Thursday at 1:30p. We’re meeting at Charlie’s Bistro.”

“Ohh, I like that place. It’s the perfect setting with their outdoor eating area. The tables are set far enough apart that we can have our privacy.”

“Yeah that’s why we thought of it. Plus it’s centrally located so none of us have a long commute.”

“Sounds good babe. How’s your day going? Did you make the selection for the art professor position?”

“Yes. I offered the job to Leigh this morning and she accepted. I just met with her for orientation. Tomorrow is her official start date. She’s thrilled about the job and her trip to Monterey with James was very successful. She’ll be at the gathering on Saturday. She’s looking forward to meeting some new people.”
