    The Gathering 01.58 – The Gathering ReDux – Pt. 6

     

     

                Tina heard the doorbell ring, and she just couldn’t get up from the chair.  She was tired; she heard some soft of scratching at the door.  What the?  She got up and rushed over to the door, yanking it opened to find Sam Vance placing a huge envelope on the floor.

     

                “Hi.”  Sam said, a small grin playing on her lips.  Tina looked dead tired yet stunning at the same time.

     

                “Hello.  Come on in, unless you have to be somewhere?”  Sam nodded no and stepped into the apartment. 

     

                “Thanks, I hope they are ok.” She handed the envelope to Sam, their fingertips brushing for a moment.  “I took some extra ones tonight, Lara and I went out snapping the city like you asked.”  Tina‘s eyebrows shot up, and she offered Sam a soda and the woman nodded.

     

                “You work at the hospital too?”  Tina asked, not delving into the subject of the date she’d just had.

     

                “Yeah I’m a doctor there, ER.”  Tina shook her head.

                           

                “You are a doctor?  Why are you taking pictures for a living?”  Sam grinned, popping the top on the soda that Sam took from Tina.

     

                “I don’t, it’s just something that keeps me busy.  So you’re new at VanGuard, my father likes you, and that is saying a lot.”  Tina smiled, sitting on the couch across from the chair that Sam had sat in.  To far away, thought Tina.

     

                “You are young to be a doctor…”  Tina started and Sam put her hand up, and Tina got quiet.

     

                “I graduated High School at 14, was out of med school at 21.  So that’s why I’m so young.  Don’t let my age fool you, I’m really an old soul.”  Tina grinned, and Sam looked at the TV, a DVD was playing and the sound was off.  “Angel, the vampire with a soul, cursed for eternity….”  Chuckled Sam and Tina‘s eyes grew wide.

     

                “Oh my god!  I thought I was the only ***** on earth that watched that show!”  Sam burst out into a laugh.

    2. What’s got me a bit confused is that Al didn’t recognise Sam in the hospital. Familiar yeah, but still think she should have known. Sorry J, I’m a bit more critical this time. But I still love your story ;) And I like Dana&Lara together.
