    Gathering ReDux – Pt. 7

Sam woke up slowly, her head was pounding, from having been drunk way too much alcohol, the days events, and the great company she’d found at Milk when she’d gotten there, Tina.  Her cell phone was ringing and she groped for it and answered it groggily.

“Hey.”  She said, her eyes darting left to right, wondering where she was.  She remembered Milk, Tina and Alice.  Poor Alice, she’d been uncomfortable most of the night.  Sam didn’t know if it was because Tina was into someone new or because of C.J. having passed away.  It was her father on the phone, she dreaded this.  “No, I can’t do it, I’m really sorry.  You should have gotten Kinney back on the payroll, I told you that.  I knew that the clients would relent after he went after them a few more times and you lost all your big fishes.  You lost the clients, not me, and I told you that if you couldn’t bank roll half of the venture that I wasn’t going to make up the difference.  I just can’t do it.  I’m sorry Gardner.  I’ll be in Pittsburgh later this week for the partner’s meeting.  I’ll talk to Kinney then; see if I can get him back.”  She said her good byes and hung up, throwing herself onto the bed and burying her face in the covers.

She looked around the room, definitely not her own, she looked down and saw she had on clothes, that was a good thing.  Except, they were not her clothes.

“Oh merde.”  Sam said aloud, and she saw the door creeping open.  Tina peeked in and Sam smiled, seeing how cute she was in the morning light.

    1. God JM, your stories are always so hard to read…I cringe, and my heart aches throughout every chapter…yet, I can’t stop myself from reading. Hmmm must be because of the excellent writing! I thought you were posting this all in one go…so come on, hurry up and post the rest. I need to figure out how many B&T beginnings I am going to have to read in order to feel happy again!!!

    2. Hi J, loving it as always. ~whispering~I so agree with you Seahurst. J, is killing me and she promised me (I think) that this wasn’t gonna hurt. The only way that I can indulge in J’s fanfic is by resting in the fact that there is ample access to TiBette stories and old epidsodes to remind me that all is still well in TiBette land (at least for now, don’t remind me)~sigh.
