“Bette” it was Shane, not Tina, who made the first steps towards Bette.

Shane put one hand on Bette’s neck and the other on the small of her back, and pulled their bodies close together. Bette could feel Shane’s breath on her ear, and for some reason she felt powerless. Shane’s hips were grinding into hers and Bette felt her body responding. She put her arms round Shane’s waist and they continued to dance. She wanted to pull away, but something wouldn’t let her.

“It’s just how I am” Shane whispered in Bette’s ear before stepping away “don’t blame her”

Bette stood there, speechless.

“Come on Dana” Shane took Dana’s arm “let’s give them some space”

Shane and a slightly bemused Dana walked away leaving Bette and Tina staring at each other.

Tina stepped to Bette, and Bette grabbed her. Her hands moved to hold Tina’s head as she kissed her hungrily. Their bodies started to grind together as they clutched each other desperately. Bette looked around and saw no signs of their friends. She took Tina’s hand and dragged her to the bathroom. Pushing the door shut, she grabbed Tina to her and kissed her hard. “Seems like that bathrooms gonna get a lot of action tonight” Bette grinned.

Bette led the way back into the room, and they found Alice dancing victoriously at having won a drinking competition with a girl she seemed to know.

“Where have you two been?” she asked.

“Oh, you know, something urgent came up” Bette squeezed Tina’s hand.

“Uh huh” Tina nodded in agreement.

“I see” Alice grinned knowingly.

“Where’s Dana?” Bette seemed concerned.

“Over there” Alice pointed to the other side of the room.

Dana was leant up against the wall, her head tilted back, and Shane was kissing her neck.
