Chapter 22
8:30 pm. Day 20. Paradise Apartments. San Francisco.
Bette watched from the window as the cab pulled into the parking lot of the apartment block, she turned and started lighting the candles, putting out all the lights in the living room. She had opened a bottle of Shiraz earlier, to let it breathe, and she now poured it into 2 waiting glasses. She hoped this would go better than the last time she tried it. Carrying the glasses to the door, she opened it just in time to watch Tina emerge from the elevator. She smiled at her girlfriend, passing her a glass of wine and stepping back to allow her into the apartment.
Tina ignored Bette’s gesture to enter the apartment, instead snaking her free hand around the brunette’s waist, drawing her in for a kiss.
“Hi babe, I missed you today.” She murmured in between kisses, feeling her body relax with the proximity to Bette.
“I missed you too, Tee.” Bette kissed her in return, running her fingers lightly over Tina’s back.
The last 2 days had flown by with nothing but love, passion and understanding passing between the two women. On Thursday, Bette spent the morning hunting for apartments, by that afternoon she had signed a short lease on a small 2 bedroom serviced apartment. This morning she spent a couple of hours packing up and moving the few belongings she and Tina had. Then she allowed herself to purchase a few items to personalise the place a little as well doing a grocery run to stock up the pantry and the fridge. She had passed by a jeweller at the mall and was struck by a pendant in the window. It was a white gold piece – 2 figures embracing, as if they were dancing. Tina was going to need to accept some gifts from her sometimes, she thought as she paid for her purchase.
Tina walked into the apartment and took in the candle-lit room. Bette had spent the last few hours in the kitchen cooking and the aromas made the blonde’s stomach rumble. Bette laughed and led her girlfriend to the dining table, pulling a seat out for her to take. Sitting on Tina’s plate was a small box.

Oh, wow! So wonderful to see the two of them communicating. I am ready to see the two of them spending the afternoon together relaxing though…Bette’s right, Tina is working too hard. I know she will have the perfect remedy for her at the end of the day. PPS!

Well, a lovely necklace is rather different than unilaterally deciding where to live. :) It’s a question of appropriateness and scale, and I think Bette gets it now. Bette explained herself very well … Tina apologized for her temper … love that they’re communicating! PPS.

So glad thst Tina did not freak out over the necklace. Good that she could be happy with the gift. She has to know thst Bette is generous to a fault and loves doing those special things for the woman she loves. Not trying to buy her affection just trying to show hers and how she feels about Tina. Post when you can.
Now, that’s what I like to see! A loving, talking Bette and Tina, two people who are obviously in love and can actually get along off bed. No need for wild makeup sex this time, which I find so refreshing. They’re learning how to give and to receive out of love, without any misgivings. I have high hopes that this couple will make it.
