“Wow—that must have been hard.”

“It was, but it was a long time ago.” Scarlett took another drink of her water.  “So what about you? Tell me your story.”

“Oh—you don’t want to hear my story.”

“C’mon, I just told you my story. You have to tell me yours.”

Jenny sighed. “All right, I’ll tell you.” She licked her lips. “It was three years ago when I moved out here to be with my boyfriend Tim from Illinois. Of course, it was a different atmosphere for me, and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.” She shook her head. “But everything changed when I met our neighbors Bette and Tina. They had a get together at their house, and I met Marina.” Jenny smiled. “She was the most mysterious, fuckin’ beautiful woman I’ve ever met. I felt like we connected just by our eyes. She followed me to the bathroom and kissed me. I was taken away by it, but I liked it. I began to see her behind Tim’s back, and we would fuck any chance we had. Until one day, Tim caught us fucking in the shed at my house. He was furious, and I couldn’t put the words together on apologizing.”

“I’m sorry that you got caught in that position.”

“No, I’m happy that it happened that way.” Jenny smiled. “As crazy as it sounds, I’m happy it ended.”

“Is there more to this story?”

Jenny shook her head. “No, I don’t want to pull you into my bullshit.”

“I wouldn’t call it bullshit, it’s called your life.”

Jenny sighed. “It’s some things that needs to be kept a secret.” She looked at Scarlett. “Can you keep a secret?”

“I’m always good at keeping secrets.”

Jenny smiled. “I’m glad to know that.”

                Leigh sat her dish in the sink in Lara’s kitchen. She grabbed her glass off the counter and took a drink. She smiled at Lara as she walked into the living room.

“Dinner was wonderful. Thank you.”

Lara smiled. “You’re welcome.” Leigh took a seat on the couch.

“Your place is amazing. I would love to have an ocean view.”

“Thanks, I’m just renting the place out. I got offered a job at four-star restaurant in New York City. I’m deciding if I want to take it or not.”

“Congratulations.”

“Thank you,” Lara pushed a strand of hair out of her face.  “So what do you do Leigh?”

“I’m unemployed,” she laughed softly. “I’m still looking for a job.”

“What do you like to do?”

“I’m in artist. I love to paint, love to draw.”

“That’s amazing gift.”

Leigh nodded. “Thanks.” The two women laughed and looked at each other. “I’m having a really great time tonight with you.”

Lara smiled gently. “Yeah, so am I. I’m really enjoy your company.”  Leigh smiled and stared into Lara’s eyes. Lara stroked Leigh’s cheek and leaned forward. Leigh leaned forward also, and they kissed. Lara cupped Leigh’s face and kissed her fervently. Leigh moaned softly as she felt Lara sucking on her tongue. The two women pulled away and sighed. “I’m sorry.”

Leigh bit her bottom lip. “It’s okay,” Leigh kissed Lara and ran her fingers through her hair. Lara began to push Leigh onto the couch as they kissed each other passionately.
