The music was blaring throughout WAX as everybody danced and drank. Shane walked through the crowd and smiled when people congratulated her. She walked over to Chantal, Helena, Alice and Dana at the bar. Chantal smiled and wrapped her arms around Shane.

“Congrats babe,” Shane smiled and rubbed Chantal’s lower back.

“Thanks.” Chantal gave Shane a peck on the lips. Shane held up her two fingers at the bartender.  “So Helena, how you feeling?”

Helena sighed. “I’m alright,” she took a drink of her beer. “God, that man was a wanker.”

“Who?”

Alice looked at Shane. “Meredith’s ex. He was the problem and so was her son.”

“Ah,” Shane nodded. She grabbed her beer off the counter and took a drink. “Has anybody seen Jenny?”

“Babe, she called and said she’ll be a little late.” Chantal laid her hand on Shane’s stomach. “She’ll be here.”

“Okay,” she took another drink of her beer.

Dana put a strand of her hair behind her ear. “Did anybody see Bette and Tina on the dance floor?”  The girls’ eyes averted towards the dance floor.

“Wow—they’re bumping and grinding.” Alice nodded.

“They’re having a great time,” Shane smiled. “I’m glad to see that.” Kerri came through the crowd, and Shane stared at her. “Kerri?”

Kerri smiled softly. “I just came to say congratulations.”

Shane nodded. “Thank you.” Keri smiled and nodded. She began to walk away. “Kerri?” She turned around. “No hard feelings.” Shane stuck out her hand.

Kerri smiled and shook it. “No hard feelings.” She pulled her hand away and walked off.

“That was really sweet of her.” Chantal smiled. “C’mon babe lets dance.” She grabbed Shane’s hand and walked onto the dance floor.

Dana grabbed Alice’s hand. “You wanna?”

Alice smiled. “Love to,” they both followed Shane and Chantal out on the dance floor. Helena took another drink of her beer as she watched her friends dance the night away. She sighed heavily as she leaned against the counter.  A shorthaired brunette walked up to Helena, and Helena looked up. She smiled softly and looked away.
