    Author Notes:

    Everyone’s home from the party. Leigh and Carmen engage each other in bed. Alice and Lara find peace. Bette and Tina discuss Alice and Lara. Shane can’t sleep.

    As Carmen goes over her brief inward struggle, another struggle appears
    to have ceased as Alice and Lara have made their way back to Alice’s
    apartment.  Their friends didn’t appear too phased by seeing them
    together at The Planet for the New Year’s Eve Celebration.  Their
    clothes removed, Alice and Lara slide into bed together.  Lara’s
    arms are wrapped around Alice kisses Lara sweetly on the lips. 
    Lara caresses Alice’s face and smiles.

    Lara: When I said it…I meant it.

    Alice looks up and smiles back.

    Alice: I know…so did I…

    They kiss some more and feel a sense of peace about them as they
    do.  Their arms and legs wrapped around one another underneath the
    covers and their heads touching, they enjoy their solitude together and
    for the first time in a long time, sleep peacefully.

    The peaceful calm that’s felt at Alice’s is slightly different from
    what’s felt at Bette and Tina’s as the couple lay together in bed,
    cuddled together.  The feeling is more inquisitive.

    Bette: Okay….Tee, I know nobody said anything at The Planet.  We
    didn’t say anything on the way back….but I gotta ask…

    Tina: What’s that, Bette?

    Bette: …Did I see what I think I saw?

    Tina: What…?

    Tina turns around in bed to face Bette.

    Bette: Alice.

    Tina: Al and Lara?

    Bette: ….And you don’t have anything to say….?

    Tina: Bette….they’ve been through a lot together.  Y’know,
    Dana’s passing affected all of us….but I think those two felt it the
    most, y’know?

    Bette: That’s what worries me.  Tee….I’m a little concerned
    about those two being together.  I mean…it’s one thing for them
    to become close friends, but…seeing them kiss?

    Tina: Maybe they’ve found happiness in each other, Bette.

    Bette: Yeah, but….don’t you think it’s just a little insulting to Dana?

    Tina pauses for a moment.

    Tina: Bette…baby…I know it’s cryptic, but if something happens to me I would hope that you were able to find solace again.

    Bette: If you die…I’m not gonna react by finding Henry and fucking his brains out.

    Tina: Bette!!!!

    Tina climbs out of bed and stands appalled.

    Tina: What the fuck…?

    Bette slides upward to a seated position in bed and looks at Tina.

    Bette: I’m sorry, Tee.  It just concerns me, alright?  I’m
    sure Lara’s a sweet girl and I don’t think any of us have ever had a
    problem with her, but Tee…..Alice is very…very…fragile right
    now.  Don’t you find it just a little insane that she’s suddenly
    intimate with another of Dana’s exes?

    5. Yay, I checked here hoping there’d be an update and…there was! I like how you transition from scene to scene and then tie it all together with what everyone is doing at the last moment of the chapter…only to leave us curious about what will come next. Maybe the next morning Lara and Alice waking up to a little..????? I love those two together and how you are portraying them. Shane and Helena-could be a rich friendship. Bette and Tina, get over Henry already. Carmen, glad she’s getting thigns out of her system. Thanks again and keep up your writing, looking forward to reading more soon!

    6. oh god.. I laughed when Bette said that about Henry.. lol.. Is Carmen really already moving on? Hmm.. I fear the past will haunt her later

    8. Kace, you are doing a wonderful job with this story and I like it very much. Alice and Lara together seems to be working itself out also and they seem to be good for each other. You have put everyone where they belong and Helena doesn’t have money but she will be okay too. Great job. Thanks for the post.

    9. Great chap. Glad Carmen is trying to put her life in order (she definitely needed that little romp w/ Leigh) but Shane will haunt her thoughts just like she’s haunting Shanes.

    10. That is sweet. Everybody is with someone except for Helena and Shane (maybe that is a hint in itself that these two should give it a try together). Bette and Tina back where they belong, Alice and Lara grieving over Dana’s death, and Carmen and Leigh just trying to survive major breakups. Life can be cruel but sometimes it actually does work out (not enought in my lifetime).
