Tina sat in the waiting room with tears falling down her cheeks. The whole situation seemed unreal. She couldnt believe this was happening to them. Bette had saved her from that woman and now she was suffering, only God knew how much. Life wasnt fair. She and Bette loved each other, they were meant to be together. Why had she played those games? Why had she ever let Bette think that she didnt still love her? And why had she made her take her on that date? Nothing that had happened in the past mattered now if Bette could just live.

Miss Kennard? a nurse entered and Tina got to her feet.

Bette? the panic was evident in Tinas voice.

Bette is going to be fine, Miss Kennard

Tina sank back down into the sear and ran her hands through her hair. The tears that flowed were tears of relief. A smile of joy spread across her face.

Your girlfriend has been very lucky. The knife didnt penetrate any vital organs, in fact her injury seems to be merely a slash wound

Tina cringed at the thought of Bettes stomach being slashed.

We think she simply passed out as a result of the pain

Tina managed a laugh. Shed use that fact later.

Tina walked into the room and her heart melted. Bette looked so vulnerable lying in the bed.

Hows my hero doing?

Heroine if you dont mind. And Im all better now that youre here

Their eyes met and they held each others gaze.

Come here Bette said simply.

Tina walked over to the bed and clutched Bettes outstretched hand. She leant down and kissed her softly on the lips.

Im so glad youre here baby Bette stroked Tinas face.

I was so scared. I thought Id lost you. Baby I couldnt live without you. I owe you my life for what you did last night. And thats what I want to give you. My life. All of it. Its yours forever

Baby Im still here. And I always will be. I never want to be without you Bette pulled Tina down for another kiss.

Id die for you T. More than anything in the world I want you to be happy, and if I had to die in the process then I would she looked at Tina so that she could see the truth in her eyes.

The only thing thatll make me happy is to be with you Tina returned the gaze.

Then we can both be happy together Bette smiled.

Always Tina whispered.

Their kiss was more intense this time. It seemed to seal the deal between them – that they would always be together. Their tongues touched and Bette moaned in the way that only a woman can.

Their fingers intertwined and they gently stroked each other, both of them with smiles on their faces.

Bette pulled a sulky face. Tina leant in to kiss her, but instead blew a raspberry on her chin. Both of them lapsed into fits of giggles.

They kissed again. Bette caressed Tinas face while Tinas hands ran through her curls. They were interrupted by an exaggerated cough from by the door.

Sorry, I just need to do Bettes obs said the slightly embarrassed nurse.

Sure, Ill just go the bathroom Tina got up and gave Bette a quick kiss.

Miss you already Tina laughed as she left the room.

The nurse carried out the obs, and was impressed by how well Bette was doing. She left, and Tina soon reappeared at the door.

And in came Alice, Dana, Shane and Jenny, who all shrieked with delight upon seeing Bette.

Youre okay! Dana exclaimed.

Was it really painful? Jenny seemed squeamish.
