Alice: “The guy from the hospital?”

Shane nodded. She let out a heavy sigh.

Shane: “This is not how I imagined this would end…”

Alice had a big goofy grin on her face.

Alice: “So you imagined this would happen.?”

Shane blushed and buried her head in her knees. She peeked up at Alice and nodded. She came up and kissed Alice. The kiss deepened and they wrapped their arms around each other. Alice pulled away and stroked the side of Shane’s face.

Alice: “You need to go.”

Shane : “No I’ll call him back..I can find someone else to…”

Alice placed a finger over Shane’s mouth and replaced it with a kiss.

Alice: “I’m letting you out of your promise…go..I’ll be ok…remember tonight is tonight and tomorrow we’ll just go with the flow.”

Shane nodded and gave her another quick kiss. She climbed out of bed and got into her pants. She held up her shredded shirt and laughed. Alice pointed to her dresser drawer as she climbed out of bed and fished threw her jeans for something. Shane turned around wearing Alice’s shirt that said “I can’t even think straight”. The shirt hung off of her tiny frame, and Alice laughed at Shane who looked like a little kid in her ***** pants, and baggy t-shirt. Alice tossed her what she fished out of her own jeans. Shane caught it and looked to find she threw her the keys to her car.

Shane: “Al…no one drives the mini but..”

Alice: ” Go..take her really…I know you…you wouldn’t walk out on me and ***** up my car…(Shane shook her head no)…besides I’m not going anywhere tomorrow. Just bring it back whenever, its gassed up and its around back.”

Shane climbed back up the bed to Alice and kissed her on the lips. She grabbed her head and kissed her passionately. Alice pulled away and turned her head blushing.

Alice: “Get out of here before we end up back in the kitchen”

Shane:” Ok…but just so you know…I would have kept my promise…I would have stayed til morning…”

Shane turned and walked out of the door.

Alice: “I was gonna hide you boots while you were sleeping just in case ..(She yelled as Shane left.)”

Shane grabbed the CD from the stereo and held it to her chest. She walked out the apartment locking the door before she left. In the hall she leaned against the door holding the CD to her chest… Alice climbed under the covers with one of her pillows. She could still smell Shane on it. She lay there thinking about what had just happened, and fell asleep with a giant smile on her face.

Shane parked behind the church and unlocked the back door. She walked inside and moved to the back room. She saw that Van was sitting in a chair with bloodshot eyes.

Van: He just went home, he had to lay down, he was too weak. Shane nodded. She saw that Van had everything ready to go. Van helped Shane load up the mini with the two bundles and slapped the roof as she pulled off into the night.
