    The Roommates – 2nd Dimension: Chapter 63

“Okay, T. I’m giving you total control.”

“Thank you. Sit tight. Let me come get the door for you,” said Tina.

The dark-haired beauty exhaled and tried to still the nervousness in her belly. Her door opened and Tina said, “Bette, please bring your flowers in with you.”

Bette nodded and retrieved her small bouquet. The twosome made it inside and were seated side-by-side at a small, quiet booth in a dimly lit section of the restaurant. Bette looked around the small dining room and was surprised to see that most of the other patrons were lesbian couples.

    “T? Is this place….is it…?” she began.

Tina smiled. “Yes. It’s very lesbian friendly. I thought you might like it.”

“Because of all the lesbians?” asked Bette.

Tina’s smile fell. “No. No. Because it’s quiet and it’s cute and it’s all those things plus friendly to people like us.”

    “People like ‘us’?” asked Bette.

Tina looked away. “Yes. People like us.”

    Bette sighed. “Thank you, T.”

The determined blonde took her lover’s hand in her own and said, “Don’t thank me yet. I needed to do this.”

    “You did?”

“I did. We need to talk, Bette.”

The dark-haired young woman became flush. “Oh God.”

“Wait, don’t panic. Not that kind of talk. Never that kind of talk.”

    Bette swallowed thickly. “Okay.”

“I just wanted to say some things to you.”

    “Okay.”

“Here goes. Please bear with me. I’m really trying hard to be all mature and everything here.”

Bette smiled. “I know you are, T. I know you are. I’m all ears.”

That smile was all the encouragement Tina needed. She gripped her lover’s hand a little tighter and leaned in to speak, just as their waitress appeared.

“Hello ladies. Welcome to Bella Donna. My name is Sarah and I’ll be your waitress this evening,” said their latest interruption.

Sarah was medium build and medium height with warm brown eyes and a nearly bald look that was cute on her small friendly face. She eyed the closeness of her latest patrons and said, “Romantic night?”

    Tina smiled. “Yes, it is.”

“Excellent. Bella Donna caters to lovely young ladies like yourselves.”

    1. So glad Tina explain herself to Bette. Of course Bette would always forgive Tina. Hopefully Tina will find a way to have an open relationship with Bette and not have her family reject her.

    2. So what I was looking for!!! Tina is still somewhat contradicting herself, but I do know and been there with loving someone but still not there to truly love them. But I am SOOOOOO GLAD she opened up to Bette and showed Bette how much she love and value her! Bette definitely deserve it! Great chap as always, and thanks for a great treat to start off along work week!! Please Post SOOON!!

    3. Awwww MTS, I was able to catch up with this fic, and I must say you have crafted a fabulous piece of writing here. Young love can be so tenacious, so strong, so unparalleled to anything else. I can completely understand Tina’s fears of her families rejection. They are valid and they are real to her. She is a young girl who probably still remains quite dependent on them. If she doesn’t have the strength now, to make changes based on what SHE wants and no other influences, maybe one day she just might right? I think when you get past your teens and into your twenties, you become more independent and able to think for yourself and not be dictated by what others think. I found myself more empowered as a woman, a daughter, a sister, etc as I hit thirty. Now at 38 I can honestly say that the decisions I made in my life, I made with no thought to whether I was going to feel rejection from family and friends. Did I lose some friends? Yep, I lost a couple. Did I lose family? Yep, I lost my father, and perhaps one other. However, what I gained in return, a woman in my life who loves me beyond anything I could ever imagine, and whom I love in return on a level I never imagined could happen, I WON THE LOTTERY. So…..my wish for Tina is that she allow herself the courage to make decisions as a young adult, independent from her parents. I love the honesty that she offered. Bravo!!! Please post soon.

    4. What a quandary on one hand I struggle with Tina’s existence. I think we all have been there. My parents kept me in line (some would say that it was impossible) by impressing on me how proud they were of me and my accomplishments. I always wanted to be the good girl and impress them to gain their approval. Coming out is nothing less then a major disappointment that I prolonged way too long. It seems that Tina is coming to terms with you only have today and cherish it with this chapter. Thanks for giving it to us. Bette’s whimper about will we make it scares me a bit. Second guessing and doubt can do them in. But I wait for you to tell us. Great chapter.

    5. :S “I love to love you” that’s so sweet… and yea, they’re so lucky to have found The One so early in life… and hope their happy moment will carry on ;)

    6. Glad Tina was able to explain herself and Bette was able to accept the apology as it was given. Hopefully, in time, Tina will really come to terms with herself and allow love to lead the way. PPS

    7. Sydney lurks in the background but Tina confessing her true love for Bette blocks her at every turn. It’s early days but they are ment to be. Tina needs to look into financial aid in case her parents make it hard for her when she comes out to them that way she is prepared for the worst. Hopefully they wont take it too badly.

    8. I’m glad Tina’s no show didn’t turn into something ugly. But as I’ve reading your story, I’m wondering are you ever going to bring Shane into the mix? Good Job.

    9. It takes a lot of work to have a successful relationship. It is not always coming up roses but hard times are always just around the corner. Tina is taking that first step with Bette and is willing to work towards taking more steps. I love how Bette, even though discouraged by Tina not being there at times, is able to put some of her pain behind her.
