The Roommates – 2nd Dimension: Chapter 63
Tina leaned in and hugged her lover to her closely. Bette melted into their embrace. She couldn’t let go and without even realizing she’d spoken the words aloud, she whispered, “T, are we gonna make it?”
The blonde held on even tighter and when she spoke, her words came fast and hushed. Her tongue eager to allay her lover’s fears. “Babe, we are gonna make it. When we’re 50 years old we’re gonna sit back and laugh at this night. I promise.”
“You promise, T? How can you promise that?”
“I trust us, Bette. And I trust we are going to be okay.”
Dark curls nodded in response and the two women separated. Tina looked at the table and chuckled. Their entrees had been delivered and neither woman had heard anything.
“Wow. I guess we were really preoccupied, huh?,” said Tina.
“Yeah, I guess so. The food looks great.”
“It does.”
They began to nibble on their chicken dishes and as they ate, Bette asked “How did you know about this place?”
Tina’s smiled nervously. “I uh….I called in a favor….from our favorite investigative reporter.”
“You did? You called Alice?”
“I did.”
“And the election? How did you find out about that?”
“Same source. You know she knows everything,” Tina replied.
Bette nodded, “You’re right about that. She does know everything. She makes it her business to know everything. But it really paid off for us tonight. Are you sure you’re okay being here?”
“I’m sure, Bette.”
Bette chewed her chicken and said, “Tina, I want you to know that I really appreciate everything you’ve done tonight. I do. I understand where you are coming from and that I totally support you. I admit, I was a little upset when I looked out into the crowd and didn’t see you. I really was expecting you to be there. But then Sidney mentioned I should check my voicemail. I did – – -,” Bette began.
Tina stopped in mid-chew and said “Sidney?”
“Yeah. She was running for Chairperson of the Dance Marathon. We talked a little after the elections were over. Nothing shady, T. She was very supportive.”
Tina nodded. “Oh.”

So glad Tina explain herself to Bette. Of course Bette would always forgive Tina. Hopefully Tina will find a way to have an open relationship with Bette and not have her family reject her.
So what I was looking for!!! Tina is still somewhat contradicting herself, but I do know and been there with loving someone but still not there to truly love them. But I am SOOOOOO GLAD she opened up to Bette and showed Bette how much she love and value her! Bette definitely deserve it! Great chap as always, and thanks for a great treat to start off along work week!! Please Post SOOON!!
beautiful chapter…it’s nice to see tina trying…it will be hard for them but i believe they can do anything because of their love
This is wonderful as always. I missed this story a lot when you stopped writing it.
I will give it to Tina in this chapter. Finally she opens up to Bette! I hope they continue to whisper!
I’m glad that Tina was able to tell Bette how she was feeling. belive that they can make it and will.
Awwww MTS, I was able to catch up with this fic, and I must say you have crafted a fabulous piece of writing here. Young love can be so tenacious, so strong, so unparalleled to anything else. I can completely understand Tina’s fears of her families rejection. They are valid and they are real to her. She is a young girl who probably still remains quite dependent on them. If she doesn’t have the strength now, to make changes based on what SHE wants and no other influences, maybe one day she just might right? I think when you get past your teens and into your twenties, you become more independent and able to think for yourself and not be dictated by what others think. I found myself more empowered as a woman, a daughter, a sister, etc as I hit thirty. Now at 38 I can honestly say that the decisions I made in my life, I made with no thought to whether I was going to feel rejection from family and friends. Did I lose some friends? Yep, I lost a couple. Did I lose family? Yep, I lost my father, and perhaps one other. However, what I gained in return, a woman in my life who loves me beyond anything I could ever imagine, and whom I love in return on a level I never imagined could happen, I WON THE LOTTERY. So…..my wish for Tina is that she allow herself the courage to make decisions as a young adult, independent from her parents. I love the honesty that she offered. Bravo!!! Please post soon.
this was wonderful… i love when they talk things out… IC should take notes… you know i have always loved your stories… PPS
Very sweet chapter. :D
aaaah, nice chapter. Good to see Tina so sweet and loving.
Gee, that was really sweet. Thank you.
MTS I just love it when they’re all gooey in your story; u have a way of doing it perfectly. Thx for shout out. PPS
Note to myself, a closeted girlfriend is not such a bad idea after all…
What a quandary on one hand I struggle with Tina’s existence. I think we all have been there. My parents kept me in line (some would say that it was impossible) by impressing on me how proud they were of me and my accomplishments. I always wanted to be the good girl and impress them to gain their approval. Coming out is nothing less then a major disappointment that I prolonged way too long. It seems that Tina is coming to terms with you only have today and cherish it with this chapter. Thanks for giving it to us. Bette’s whimper about will we make it scares me a bit. Second guessing and doubt can do them in. But I wait for you to tell us. Great chapter.
:S “I love to love you” that’s so sweet… and yea, they’re so lucky to have found The One so early in life… and hope their happy moment will carry on ;)
Glad Tina was able to explain herself and Bette was able to accept the apology as it was given. Hopefully, in time, Tina will really come to terms with herself and allow love to lead the way. PPS
really enjoyed this chapter. its all about taking steps. thanks.
Sydney lurks in the background but Tina confessing her true love for Bette blocks her at every turn. It’s early days but they are ment to be. Tina needs to look into financial aid in case her parents make it hard for her when she comes out to them that way she is prepared for the worst. Hopefully they wont take it too badly.
I’m glad Tina’s no show didn’t turn into something ugly. But as I’ve reading your story, I’m wondering are you ever going to bring Shane into the mix? Good Job.
It takes a lot of work to have a successful relationship. It is not always coming up roses but hard times are always just around the corner. Tina is taking that first step with Bette and is willing to work towards taking more steps. I love how Bette, even though discouraged by Tina not being there at times, is able to put some of her pain behind her.
That was beautiful and sweet!
