It had only been a week before Bette was calling Shane over to her house. She had tried everything to make Tina feel more desirable but the blonde made no moves to reinitiate their sexual relationship. Bette knew that the romance and sweet words were getting to Tina because she seemed much more confident and determined, but they still needed more time together. Reliving Provocations again turned out to be just as stressful as the first time but Bette was assured that the exhibition would be a huge success.

However, that night was the opening night of Provocations and Tina was out shopping for the day. Bette knew the importance of this day while Tina was just dolling herself up for a day of being the prized trophy at the entrance then being abandoned once Bette started entertaining her guests. Bette didn’t want to allow that this night. She wanted to show Tina how different she was, that she wasn’t doing all those nice things just for sex. That night could not end out in angry, violent sex and a break up.

So she called Shane: the master in making women believe that she loved them when she didn’t. Though in Bette’s case she did love Tina with all her heart but Tina didn’t believe her.

"So," Shane said walking into the house, "you finally gonna tell me what’s up with you?"

"Yes, and only because I need your help," Bette said, "and you have to swear to never tell anyone."

"My lips are sealed," Shane responded sitting down on the couch.

Bette settled next to her and took a deep breath. "Alright here goes. I’m from an alternate future."

"What?" Shane said in surprise.

"Look in that future I cheated on Tina with Candace," Bette said.

"The carpenter? And are you…" Shane trailed off looking terrified.

"No, I wouldn’t commit the mistake twice," Bette said, "because I know what happens."

"What happens?"

So Bette tells her. Bette tells her everything about everyone. She tells her about Helena, Max, Carmen, Jodi, Henry, Dana, and Jenny.

"Okay, so let me get this straight," Shane said shaking her head, "I don’t know Jenny too much but I end out becoming her best friend?"

"It’s a friendship not even Dana and Alice could match," Bette said.
