    The Set Up (3)

The next day, Tina dropped Angelica off at school, and headed back home for a bath. With lit candles fixed along the edges of the tub, she could breathe in the relaxation, and she could smile. It was wonderful to take a personal day. It was a day just for her, and each moment was as quiet as the last.

After about half an hour of just lying still in the rapidly cooling water, Tina reached for her book and started to read. It wasn’t until she began to feel chilled that she put her book down again, washed and shaved, and then rinsed herself off with hot water. She thought about the showerhead, but then decided she wasn’t in the mood just then. She was too content being lazy.

Lounging around and then cleaning to settle her mind, Tina slowly made her way into each room of their house, just smiling or even humming to herself. It was so nice not to have anywhere to be, or anything in particular to do – although her mind was racing for much of the day anyway. She’d always been amazed by work’s ability to take over her mind with worry.

As she explored into Angelica’s room, she laughed at the mess built up in the corner – just out of sight for the quick glance in. Tina got down to her knees, shaking her head at the pile of dirty clothes when something else caught her attention. It was a sheet of paper with Bette’s information on it, in her daughter’s room, that reminded Tina once again how strange she felt the whole set up to be. She felt that true love was more than information, more than the internet, and more than a sneaky child’s wishes.

Is this all being forced onto us? … Bette might not even be interested. What am I saying? Of course she is. I can see it in her eyes. So why am I in such turmoil? … What’s wrong with me?

    Questions not easily answered.

In utter frustration, Tina felt down on herself, and lonely all over. She felt that her time with Bette was too good to be true, and that she should call off the charade before she became too attached to manage it.
It took her a while to muster up the courage, but in the early afternoon, she picked up the house phone, and dialled Bette’s work number from memory.

    1. Well Tina life is all about risk I think Angie is super mature for her age and she sincerely likes Bette. I love this story GR I can actually understand these emotions and insecurities they’re so real

    2. Great update. Angelica is quite a girl, so mature for her young years. Hope Tina gives Bette a chance, seems they really need one another. Also hope that they can be exactly what the other needs and then some. Thanks for posting.

    3. 😉 hey GR. I really love Bette’s character. She knows that this relationship is different and it frightens her, but she never backs down. Tina is just as frightened but I think her insecurity about her whole situation, combined with how hot Bette is adds to that anxiety. I wasn’t surprised that was tina was the first one to try to back out. I’m happy that Bette fought back. I really like Bette’s confidence. Thanks GR 😘
