The Sound Track of Our Lives

“That suit is very lovely but I am afraid it won’t do at all.” Tina says, having finished her coffee.

Bette looks up at Tina pulled from her internal rant, “Won’t do? Won’t do for what?”

Tina ignores Bette’s questions,” We should stop by your hotel and get you changed into something more causal,” Tina cocked her head faintly to the side, “Did you bring anything more causal?”

Bette feels the dread starts to resonate through her body. She looks down at her designer suit,” Where are we going?”

Tina slides out of the booth and grabs the check, “Mudding.” She walks to the register leaving the shocked Bette sitting in the booth. Taking her time, Tina paid the check and said a warm goodbye to everyone.

‘What is mudding? If I have to change I have to assume that there is actual mud involved. Are we going to be playing in it?’ Bette pictures herself in a mud hole. ‘No, I can’t do that.’ Closer her eyes, Bette now envisions Tina and herself in the mud hole. ‘Oh, does she want us to wrestle? Maybe I can so that. No. No, I still don’t think I can. I don’t know how much more I can take today! Maybe I can’

Bette’s thoughts began to verge on panic.

‘What is she doing to me? I feel like I am coming undone. If she asks you are just going to jump into a puddle of mud for her? What is wrong with you? Get it together Porter, you need to be careful. Just say no to mud even if there is a possibility “causal” means nothing on.’

Bette had just found her resolve when Tina came back,” You ready to go?”

“Tina, I think we need to talk about this. I don’t have anything but suits. That is really beside the point anyway. I don’t know what mudding is but I don’t think that it is something I want to experience. Grits is one thing but muddingI would prefer not to play in the mud, ever. I have a lot I need to do. I am here for work; I need to reschedule my meeting with Mackenzie.”

    2. pls post soon..i think its really cool what u r doin..incorporating songs into the story..genius!…sometimes i feel that its easier to express what one is truely feeling throught the words of a song…cos its so much harder to put ur feelings into words(“,)
