The Story of Shane: The Beginning 6
Shane opened her eyes and couldnt help the smile forming on her lips at the feel of Ron lying next to her. God I love her so much, Shane thought.
The nagging voice from before came roaring back, Then why are you being so selfish and keep her here. She deserves more than that. You only want to keep her to make you happy; thats not true love.
No matter how hard she tried, Shane could not push that voice out of her head. I need to get out the here and think, Shane thought. She slowly got out of the bed, making sure as not to disturb Rons sleeping form. Dressing quickly, Shane left the house.
Outside the cool spring breeze caressed her cheek, but Shane did not notice anything around her. That internal berate was still plaguing her.
Ron is not as strong as you. She cant live this life forever.
She doesnt have to. We can run away together.
Hah! She cant live on the streets. She wouldnt know how.
I could provide for her.
How?! You dont even know how to provide for yourself. How will you provide for her?
We love each other. Thats all that matters. As long as we have each other we will be fine.
Who are you kidding. Thats not love. Love is when you sacrifice yourself for the other person not dragging them down with you. You know she will learn to hate you for not letting her go to a better life. Then you will truly have no one, not even a remembrance of love.
That same perpetual cycle kept on running through her head, and it was driving Shane crazy. Shane kicked a nearby trashcan in frustration. Shane gave out a defeated sigh and finally looked up at her surround. She remembered this place.
Ron was the one who showed it to her one day when she first came to the house. It was odd since Shane has been here much longer and did not even know of this place. Who knew there existed a small park, practically a slice of paradise in comparison to this dingy neighborhood.
They had spent hours here it seemed, that first time talking. Well Shane was mostly listening to this beautiful girl with long curly brown hair and the biggest brown eyes ever. She talked about her family, her mother and father and how much love she experienced, all of which were unfamiliar territories to Shane.
The only contact that Shane really had with her parents was that one time that she saw her mother. The circumstance was not happy either.
Shane was only four years old, and like any four years old living in the foster home Shane dreamed that one day her mom and dad would come and take her away. Her mom did come just like in her dreams. No one had to tell her that this was her mom, Shane just knew. She had dark raven hair just like her own along with the dark intense eyes. Unfortunately she wasnt there to take Shane away, she was there give her up permanently to the state. That was the last time that Shane cried. Ron was the only one that Shane ever told this to.
I cant really imagine life without Ron, Shane thought.
A shout across the street jogged Shane out of the past. For the first time, Shane registered how late it was. Fucked, I should have been back by now. She ran all the way home muttering, Fucked all the way.
The site that greeted Shane in her chamber robbed her of her breath.
