Things must be talked over
Bette was talking on the phone with Kit, they were supposed to have dinner that night but she had to cancel it since the gang was getting together at Dana’s later on
“Let’s have lunch tomorrow ok? I still need to talk to you, bye Kit” she called James “Get me Senator Grisham on the phone please” she said once he was in front of her. A few minutes later he came back “Senator Grisham on line 3” James announced
Bette took a deep breath and then smiled “Hello Senator Grisham”
“Dean Porter, I must say congratulations”
“Thank you very much, it’s a very challenging job and I love it” she said through another smile “You must know the reason for my call”
“Of course, I agreed to support the exhibition of the senior class and my offer still stands”
“The students informed me that you will indeed talk on their behalf with the Director of the MOCA”
“I’m sure that you’re not informed that I’m in LA now, I had a meeting at the C.A.C, I actually thought about stopping by at the Art College but I hadn’t made up my mind yet, I didn’t know you were the Dean” she knew that she had been successful at surprising her
“I had no idea Senator but please consider meeting with me and some of the students of the Student Council so they can present you their ideas on the project”
“I rather have a private meeting with the Dean first, if you agree to have breakfast with me tomorrow in my hotel room we can make a deal Bette” the Senator used a sexy voice
“Then we have a deal Barbara” Bette too
Tina was taking some time off before going to Dana’s place while Angelica was sleeping. The conversation she had had with Helena kept playing on her mind. She knew that she had hurt Bette by having feelings for men but on the other hand that she regretted her life with Bette, so Helena did have a point, Tina didn’t deserve to be treated like that. She had been all warm, lovely, kind and friendly to Bette. Every night that Bette had to pick up Angelica, Tina cooked dinner for her, sometimes Bette agreed to stay for dinner but without much enthusiasm but some others she refused and she wasn’t nice when she did it. Whenever Tina and Bette had their interview with the social worker, Tina always showed up at Bette’s with a cup of coffee from The Planet in hand and helped her with little chores but all those actions were never noticed by Bette. So, as hard it might be, she had to move on or at least consider it. She was distracted from her thoughts when the bell ran, it was Angus, he was babysitting Angelica for that night.
