    Bette’s first day back at work

    PREVIOUSLY
    They arrived at The Planet and walked in hand in hand, prompting cheers from their friends who were sitting at their usual table. They sat down and engaged in small talk, just like the good old days. When Bette looked at her watch and saw it was getting late she kissed Tina goodbye. She got back in her car, and drove off to the ***** that was waiting for her at the CAC.

    When Bette turned off the ignition in the CAC parking lot, she could already feel that her day was going to stressful. She pulled herself together before getting out and entering a world she wasn’t ready to deal with. As she pushed open the glass doors, and let her Jimmy Choo heels announce her presence, James came running up to her.


    “Bette it’s a good thing you’re here!”


    ‘It’s already started’ Bette thought to herself. “What’s going on James?”


    James looks frazzled.  His bloodshot eyes showed lack of sleep and if Bette remembered correctly, he looked a few pounds lighter, which would make for an incredible diet.  “Franklin is having a ***** fit; there are problems with the next shipment of paintings, things have just been crazy while you’ve been gone. I can’t even begin to explain”


    Bette was not ready to deal with all of this so early in the morning. “Ok well I’m going to my office; if Franklin wants to see me he knows where to find me.”


    James nodded but then realized he forgot to ask Bette something. “Wait Bette, how did it go with Tina?”


    Bette stopped and smiled. “It was absolutely amazing.”


    James was glad to hear that. “That’s great Bette! I’m so happy things worked out.”


    “Me too,” Bette replied as she made her way to her office. She sat down and looked at the piles of paperwork and sighed. She lowered herself into her black leather chair and turned on her computer. She started to sort through some of the papers when Franklin barged in.


    “It’s about time you showed your face here!” he loudly said.


    “Well it’s good to see you too,” Bette said with a fake smile.


    “I don’t know who I want to be madder at, you or Helena.”
