    Tomorrow – Chapter Twelve

“Bette… it’s not that that simple. I can be innocent as a puppy, if they get those lawyers I know they’ll get, I’ll stand no chance.”

“I will do everything to make this right, Tina. First, we’re gonna contact our friends.”

“You’re gonna tell the lot of them?”

“They are our friends for a reason, Tina. They won’t judge you and if they do, they’re not worth your friendship.”

“I guess… I’ll call Alice right away. Maybe she can get something out of the chart. There must be a lawyer on it that I can pay.”

    “You do that, girl.”

Weeks went by and Bette started to get more and more worried about Tina. She was visibly going through hell, she was more at Bette’s than at her own place. She hated being alone and Bette hated leaving her alone, but she had to work if she wanted them to be fed and the bills to be paid.

Ian Hornby was being a total ass and Bette loathed him. She had never hated someone before, but hating Ian wasn’t that hard.

    Tina Kennard POV

Tina felt useless at home. She was bored and she didn’t feel like doing anything. She never complained to Bette, who did her very best to please her.

Tina couldn’t go looking for another job because she wasn’t sure if she was to lose her current job and if she did, it would be hard finding something.

She had called Alice, who had given her a name immediately. Shelly Corman was a very nice woman, but she didn’t have much experience. Tina had rather seen someone who had done this before, but she couldn’t complain. At least, she did have someone.

They had talked things through several times. Tina had stated from the beginning that she was completely innocent. So they took a closer look. In these cases, where a woman is accused of sexual harrasment to another woman, there was always the complication that there were no traces to be found such as sperm.

Of course they could investigate Rebecca Carleighs body and see that she was not violated, but Rebecca didn’t want that. She said she didn’t want people to examine her that closely as if she were an interesting new species when she was the victim.
