    Trivial Pursuit: Part 4

    *Bette*

Realizing I had been a really crappy friend, I woke up the next morning and rushed to the loca Starbucks, which was on campus. I bought Alice her favorite and a blueberry muffin and rushed back to the dorm. I knocked on her door and waited for her to open up.

"What?" She asked. Her pajama bottoms hung slightly past her hips and the sleeves of her t-shirt were rolled up. She had just gotten out of bed.

"Peace offering." I put the coffee out in front of me, "Carmel Machiato."

"You’re so lucky I love you." She moved to the side and let me in the dorm. I sat at her desk and she got back in the bed.

"I’m sorry about everything that happened last night. I shouldn’t have left."

"No, it’s okay. Shane told me why."

    "Still. I’m sorry."

"Me too. I’m sorry that she did that to you."

"Speaking of which. Where is the vampire?"

"She went to the artist studio. To think she said." We made idle chit chat for about an hour before Helena showed up.

Our eyes met and I saw something I hadn’t expected. Her eyes looked scared. Scared of maybe what I’d do to her, or what I was feeling at the moment. She looked sad too. Her eyes were red and puffy, like she had been crying for hours. I’m not sure what she saw in my eyes, but I can be sure that it was something like hatred.

"I’ll see you later, Alice." I got up and approached the doorway, where Helena was standing. She opened her lips to say something, but I didn’t give her a chance. I just left her standing there.

    *Helena*

I felt a chill as she walked beside me. Something about this felt so final. I had really messed up this time.

"She came over to apologize to me." She lifted the cup of Starbucks, "Her peace offering." I nodded, "But it should be you who should be giving peace offerings. Why did you do that, Helena? If you like her so much, why do you want to hurt her?"

"I don’t fucking know Alice. I have no idea. Have I really blown it this time?"

"I don’t know. I just think you should talk to her."
