    B&T beginning – Chapter 8

    “The kind of message that would encourage them to finish the job they were hired to do” Bette replied remarkably serious.

    “Calm down Al, they are working really hard to keep us alive and if we have to enter court through the back door I don’t care. I just want all of us to see the end of this, and then we can exit through the big doors. Besides no one cares where do you enter a building as long as justice is made, right?” Helena interfered this time, trying to calm Alice’s temper and it seemed to be working, since the blonde was now deep in thought.

    “Can we at least make it to the cops’ funerals?” Tina asked still not quite understanding the implications of their death. She immediately felt the need to show up and pay their respects to two people that, although strangers to them, had in a way paid a price for something they hadn’t initiated.

    “That can be arranged” Bette answered and the other two agents just slightly nodded their approval.

    “We’re gonna enter the court house however you see it fit agents, I will not have anyone else getting hurt over this case” Peggy, as usual, had the final word on this matter whether the girls liked it or not. Bette just looked at the older woman with nothing but gratitude in her eyes, for she had just made her job a whole lot easier.

    The rest of the day went as planned and soon enough was time to part ways again.

    “Oh hey Al, what’s up?” Tina cheerfully greeted her friend as she saw her entering her office.

    “Nothing much I just… I don’t know I guess I’m a bit worried about you TK”

    “What are you talking about? I have Agent Porter at all times with me, nothing’s gonna happen Al” Tina said giving the other blonde a warm smile of reassurance.

    “That’s the point! I mean we never got to finish our talk from the other morning and I… I…”

    “You’re wondering if anything has happened between Bette and me” Tina mischievously said, knowing her friend far too well.

    “No, that’s not what I… well you dropped a bomb on me the other day so you cannot expect me to, you know, just dismiss it. How are you? How are you coping with the fact that you’re now all alone in an apartment with someone you seem to be attracted to?”
